Hi there, am on the clear liquid diet/no sugar. Well, my surgery is tommorrow. It is only about 4pm here, and my sugar has bottomed out for me. It is in the 50's. I don't think I can make it till tommorrow without consuming something at least that has a bit of sugar. Was wondering if anyone else had experienced this and what you were told by the doc? I am still waiting on a call back from the office.... I am off my diabetic meds too because the sugar is soooooo low, and also have consumed some beef and chicken clear broth already. What else can I do? Thanks!~!

Sugar water. Add a teaspoon of sugar to a cup of water. Test your blood sugars and repeat as needed. Once in surgery they can put you on glucose drip to keep your blood sugars level. I too am diabetic and worry about getting too low before sugery. Good luck, rob hensley

Thanks Y'all. Doc called back and I was told to drink a bit of apple juice or clear liquid protien drink called Isopure. I drank an Isopure and sure enough it worked I am still not sure how that works, as it does not have any sugar in it..lol. I was worried for a while, and was suprised how quick I got a phone call back. I am sooooo pleased so far with my surgeon and his office. Thank goodness for that. Thanks again, -barbara
