Welcome back Pateisha! The pain in your sides and rib cage is probably the gas they used to blow your stomach up with during surgery. I had similar pains for 3 or 4 days after I came home. Have you tried using a heating pad? Sometimes that helps. It takes a while for your body to absorb the gas, it is one of the surgeries downfalls. The burning sensations are probably from where they had to cut thru some nerves for your surgery. That too will go away with time. Get plenty of rest and give it some time. I will say a prayer for you that it goes away quickly Cindy

Hi, I am having the same sharp pain on my left side under my rib cage. I was thinking it was gas too, but if it doesn't get better soon I plan to call my surgeon's nurse. Let me know if you find out anything and I will do the same. Take care, Danielle

Try Peppermint tea. It's helped me considerably. It's in with the herbal teas and is decaf. I put a little Splenda in it just to sweeten it. Also get up and move as much as possible. I know it's hard, but you've got to move it out. Also take your prescribed pain meds as directed. Hope this helps. Kerry

Pateisha, Hello I had my surgery the day before you. I have the same burning and the more I walk the worse it got. I would have to lay down for awhile to get it to go away. they said it is possible scar tissue they had to cut thru. They said there is deep stitches in there and they pull and that is what is causing the burning. I hope this helps. Sherry
