Is anyone else having an issue with thirst? I cannot get enough to drink. I am always so thirsty and with precious little room in my new mini-stomach , I cannot get my thirst quenched. At first I was drinking Crystal Lite but then switched to water when I saw that CL has added sodium and I thought that might be part of the reason I was so thirsty. Helped, but not as much as I hoped. I asked about the thirst at my postop follow-up appointment and they said it should pass with time (?). I don't see why that would happen, but I'm waiting!! Any suggestions? I am thinking maybe a Gatorade like drink with no sugar? Does that exist?

Should have mentioned ... I'm doing good at getting 60-80 oz of water per day. Basically water all the time except those 90 minute eating windows (no water 30 minutes before, during, or 30 minutes after). That 90 minutes is like torture!!

Hi Jessica, I used to drink water all day before surgery. And now if I drink too much, I feel like a walking water balloon. I slosh when I walk. So I do drink water during the day, but I also chew or suck on ice chips to keep me from feeling so thirsty all the time. I hope that helps Cindy

Jessica ... I know how you are feeling. I went from drinking up to 4 litres of water per day to barely having 1/2 cup of water. What I have found to be a god send are POPSICLES. Oh man .. I tell you have never enjoyed anything as much in my life as I do popsicles lately. Though I do try not to bite so that they last longer Good luck darlin! Monique

Make sure you are eating moist foods. I'm only 3 days post and no sign of solid food in sight but I would think that would help- during at least part of the 90 minute dry time. As for the rest of the time I would just try everything the grocery store has to offer. That's what I plan on doing with the foods I have to eat & things to drink. I haven't had popsicles yet because jell-o is my new first love but I bet that would help a lot. Good luck!
