Hi..major klutz-o here!!
I'm having surgery on Monday and I decided to trip on the stairs here at work on Tuesday. I've sprained my ankle pretty good. It's a nice shade of purple today
I immediately emailed the surgeon's office to see if this would postpone my surgery. She said as long as I can get up and walk, I should be fine. WHEW!! I can at least put weight on it and hobble, so that will do for now.
I have my hospital orientation this afternoon and then off to my last supper with my girlfriendz!!
Take care all and keep up the good work!!
Michele
OMG!! you just did my nightmare move!
I am so afraid I am going to hurt myself prior to surgery and then it will need to be postponed!!
But I am glad it's good news that as long as you can walk around, then you're good to go. And look at it this way, after your surgery you will forget your ankle hurts Which is a reminder to be kind to yourself, okay, don't go dancing around anywhere
Good luck on Monday

Don't feel bad....I twisted my ankle three weeks ago stepping off the bottom stair of my basement....i was in so much pain right after it happened that I felt like a baby having my husband take care of me and i still have a slight pain but not near as bad...i keep a brace on it for support. Hang in there!!!
Well it's nice to see I'm not the only klutz-o around here! I totally blew out my knee big time about 4 weeks ago. I am just now getting to point where I can hobble around on it with a brace and a cane. I was so worried that I would have to postpone my GB surgery but my knee doctor actually would prefer I have the surgery done so it will help in the healing of my knee. I will have to have knee surgery about 6 to 8 weeks after my GB surgery because I tore the ACL, MCL, LCL, also tore the meniscus & fractured my tibia. I honestly think if I wasn't 100 lbs. overweight my injuries wouldn't have been so darn severe! Course I have myself to blame because I never should have gotten on that damn trampoline with my kids...lol! Glad you're able to keep your surgery date! Good luck to you... and you might want to buy yourself an ankle brace for extra support when you walk. Might help you after the surgery.
Cheers,
Lisa
