Getting ready.....
Well, I just got done ordering a crap load of protein mixes, suppliments and other high protein drinks at bariatriceating.com. Anybody else buy stuff from there? I hope the stuff tastes as good as they claim... we'll see. Spent a ton of money but I want to be healthy and have these things on hand for after surgery. Only 14 more days till surgery!
A list of some things I ordered....
1.) Any Whey Tasteless Protein
2.) Whey Gourmet -artic cappuccino flappe
3.) Whey Gourmet - creamy dreamy milk chocolate
4.) Whey Gourmet - vanilla ice cream royale
5.) Nectar Latte Cappuccino
6.) A variety of Chewable Suppliments
7.) Before & After book
8.) Blender Bottle (it's a shaker for the protein mixes)
Cheers,
Lisa
Great ideas - I hear folks say you don't feel much for getting out much in the 2 weeks after surgery - so stock up we do!
I just went to Bed Bath & Beyond and picked up some 1, 2, and 3oz containers for portioning meals etc. after surgery. I'm sure I'll get more information from my dietician tomorrow - they're starting me on a liquid diet to "defat" my liver before surgery.
Having surgery the same day as you - good luck and God Bless.
A planner...that's what I like to hear!!!!! I'm the same way. I went on there and ordered the beginner pack with the book as well. I also went to vitalady.com and picked up a bunch of other samples as well. I haven't tried any of them yet since I've heard about tastes changing. I plan to have some of them this weekend for my pre-op liquid diet though. I also picked up some Unjury samples and am looking forward to trying them.
Best of luck to you on your surgery and I'll see ya on the loser's bench!!!

I took a risk and just picked out what sounded good to me. I know they say your taste changes somewhat after surgery but I can't believe it will change that much so I just went ahead and risked it. The Bariatric Survival Kit looked really good and I almost bought it, but then just decided to do my own thing instead! I also ordered my multi chewable vitamins and some other chewable vitamin suppliments. Figured if I needed them I'd have them on hand! I like to be prepared and have things ready in case I need them right away. I live out in a small rural town and shopping for these items is about 45 minutes away so I like to have the shelves stocked.
Gonna go shopping tomorrow for other items that can be found at the grocery store like....
beef broth
sugar free jello & pudding
sugar free crystal light
creamed soups
baby food (I really like some of the baby foods so I'm gonna stock up on some)
Special K protein water
and more....
I also still need to buy myself a robe to wear during my hospital stay. Once I finish shopping for all those items then I'm done and ready to go!
Cheers,
Lisa
