blood gas test

did everyone's arm still hurt a few days after the pre-op blood gas test? my wrist still hurts and if I try to grab something and don't think about it my hand give out. anyone else have this? lol Jen

Jen, It probably will hurt for awhile because there are tons of nerves in the wrist area that they have to go thru to get the blood gases. It should go away soon. I have been a nurse for over 20 years and I have had the test done several times. It is very painful, but it does get better Cindy

Absolutely blood gases are painful. Try some ice to help with the swelling. Donna
