I have to start my Protein pre-op diet.....

Can any of you tell me what you feel is the best tasting pre made protein drink out there. Or even if you have a powder that you think is awesome. Thanks for any help you can provide.....Marcy

I bought my protein drink at GNC but it tastes very bland. I talked to a girl at our pre-op educational meeting and she said she buys her Whey Protein drink at Wal-Mart and it tastes good and is a lot cheaper then the one I buy at GNC. I am going to try hers. When is your surgery?

Slim-fast chocolate is good... with a couple of scoops of ice cream! Seriously, I feel for you sister. I'm on a protein die****ery soups and protein bars. Just nasty shakes must be HELL! Good luck. DD

Would that be Protein Ice Cream??? I am to start the liquid diet on Thursday....well...i do think that this will actually not start until Saturday....I have two events that have been planned for weeks...Thursday night is a girls night out to get my nails done and have a few ****tails with some friends....Friday night will be my last night out with friends before the "big" day on the 19th and also I get to celebrate my birthday early (its the 16th) . There was a guy in my pre-op class that was scheduled for Surgery on the 12th...had not started his liquid diet and also had not stopped his 15 cans of coke a day habit...i wonder how he will do it!!! I am very thankful that I don't have that addiction....as I have heard that is a hard one to break. Hope you have a great day!!!!!! it's back to work for me. Marcy

I don't know if I'm just tolerant, but I like the Pure Protein canned drinks and they are pretty readily available at trader joe's and lots of other places. The drinks are way better than the bars, which I tried a couple of times and hated!

I just bought a couple of cans of the Pure Protein and will see how they taste. Trader Joe's use to have a good variety of the powders but it doesn't look like they carry much anymore....oh well....at my pre-op they said that you don't want to go out and buy alot of one thing because your taste will change after the surgery...so I think i will stick with the liquids until after the surgery and then head over to GNC. Hi Marcy. I received today in the mail a 20 pack sample os Syntrax Nectar that I purchased for my post op. Monday is my surgery. I am sitting here tast testing one right now. Very Berry Cherry is the name of it. Whoa! It tastes very fruity but as they all do, they have that "vitamin" taste. This will be a bit difficult for me until I get used to them. I don't have anything to compare them to however perhaps some of the other losers on this sight may have something they would like to share................. Eric
