Am I the only April 5th???

Hi everyone, Congrats to everyone who has already had surgery this month, and best wishes to the ones who will have it later in the month. I've seen a lot of April dates but I don't think I've seen another April 5th...is there anyone out there having surgery April 5th??? It's almost here. Packing my hospital bag and cleaning the house today, bowel prep tomorrow (yuck), then leaving for the hospital at 3:45am Thursday morning. Surgery begins at 7:30am. I'm so excitied!!!!!!

Jamie, Your date is right around the corner! I am not on the 5th - but that is the date of my final weigh in. My date is the 10th. I have seen many people posting about the bowel prep ... what is that? Obviously it is something (thank god) that I don't have to do ... but wonder what it is Monique

LOL...the bowel prep, how did you escape??? The bowel prep is a cleansing out of the bowels, basically it means you'll be glued to the toilet all day,lol. I have to drink 2 bottles of magniesum citrate over an hour period. Then I have to take 2 different types of pills 1hr, 2 hrs, then 6hrs after drinking the magniesum. I am not looking forward to it, but with being on liquids for 2 weeks it shouldn't be so bad

Ohhhhhhh I see. Well not sure how I manged to escape that one ... but I wonder if I should tell you that I haven't had to do a 2 week liquid prep either! I think doctor's obviously have their own ways ... with the LapBand not being as serious of a surgery as others maybe that makes as difference as well. Orrrrr.... maybe I just have a horseshoe lodged somewhere! lol... I really can't even imagine how you must be feeling ... I think I am in a state of denial. I haven't really even been thinking about my surgery much. Weird huh? Anyway - I too am very excited for you! And pray that your bowel prep goes smooth!

Well if it makes you feel any better I have my pre-opt test on 4/05/07 and I'm scheduled for 4/10/07 surgery. I wish you all the best and much success.

Hi there, Mine is in less than 8 hours. I can't sleep at all and have been on the potty all day. It is going to be a long day tomorrow. But I am excited nevertheless. I packed my bag for like two weeks it seems. I know I should be consentrating on resting, but sometimes I feel like it is such a waste of time! Ugh@! Oh well. Good luck with everything tomorrow. WOW, are you as excited as I am? I am freaking out. Cannot believe that this day has finally arrived. Holy crap! Speaking of crap, how do you like the bowel prep? I have to drink 2 oz of castor oil. I have already been on the toilet five times in the past hour, and it has just began. I bet I will lose five pounds just today, hehehehe. I am also packing my hospital bag. I am taking a lightweight robe and nightgown, slippers, magazines, lotion, chapstick, toothbrush/toothpaste, hairbrush, shampoo, conditioner, glasses, and my pillow. What are you taking? I'm April 5th, too! I'm having lap band in Ashland, KY. My coworker and fellow bandster Susan is having hers tomorrow also - same doctor, same hospital. Luckily I didn't have to do the bowel prep kit, but I did do it prior to having a colonoscopy. Not fun. I didn't get to start it until late in the evening because I was working until 7 and had to drive about an hour to get home. I was on the potty all night. I had to take some pills, then drink some lemon-lime flavored (at least that's what they alleged it tasted like) syrup-ish liquid. I had to drink 8 oz every 15 minutes. I didn't fini**** all. It was awful!! The colonoscopy itself wasn't bad - I was knocked out! Good luck to all of us April 5th people! And all the others. Keep in touch... April
