Hi Glory, I started my liquid diet on the 26th. The first day was the hardest , and each day got easier. My surgery is Monday, and I am not having a problem at all! This is what I am doing. I bought some GNC pro protein powder, cookies and cream flavor. I have a small blender I got at Wal-mart and I have been having protein shakes at least twice a day. I fill in with water and crystal light. I drink broth, and slim fast drinks if I get hungry. I bought some s/f choc. syrup and I use it and splenda in the protein drinks to kinda flavor it up a little bit more. You can do this!! Just tell yourself that this liquid diet is necessary and important and it CAN be done!! I was so worried about it myself, and it has been really easy for me. Be Positive, Stay full of liquids, and think of the end results!!! YOU CAN DO IT!!!! Brenda

I am thing positive and trust me i know i am probably making it more difficult than it is. I bought chicken broth and beef broth and lots of s/f pudding and jello.. Its helping.. glory

My surgeon requires a 10 day clear liquid diet prior to surgery. It includes water, Chrystal Light, sugar free jello, sugar free popsicles, and 3-4 servings a day of protein drinks (either Essence or Syntrax Nectar because they are still considered clear liquids). I am to add benefiber to each protein drink. I am also allowed to have two control bars a day until I take my magnesium citrate. After that it will just be the liquids. I start on Tuesday. Hope this helps. Barb

I tried it and crashed out. Starting again tomorrow. I guess I just need to pour the liquids down before the hunger starts in. I'm in HK so don't have syntrax here. Does canned soup count?

Are you using soup with reduced sodium? I think that would be important to help reduce the fatty tissue on your liver. Barb

Glory, My liquid diet started yesterday and so far so good. I went to Smoothie King and got protein powder along with a large smoothy yesterday; this morning I mixed up some fresh fruit with the powder and have been drinking it most of the day. I'm sure this is going to get harder, but I keep thinking about the end result! Best of luck to you on the 6th; my surgery is on the 9th...see you at the loser's bench! pc

Congrats on the date! As far as the liquid diet- I start mine on the 5th, I bought a lot of stuff to make fruit smoothies at home and my doctor said that even applesauce is ok on the liquid diet too. I looked all over for soup, but all of them seemed to be full of something and I was given strict orders to NOT have soup that has anything in it- Vegetable, Chicken Noodle, Sirloin and Rice etc. And I can't stand the taste of broth. Good luck to you! ~Stac~
