How long did it take???

I have a question for everyone. How long did it take you from the first Dr's appoinment to your surgery date?? I have read about some people who have been trying to get approved for over a year and more. Mine took 3 months and 28 days. Let me know Cindy

Hmmm... well my insurance {Medical Mutual of Ohio} required that I go on a supervised diet thru my family doctor for 6 months and undergo a psyc evaluation. Once I completed the requirements my paperwork was submitted and I was approved 3 weeks later. Not bad!

my first appointment with the dr. was 1/18 and surgery is 4/2 sooooo about 2 and 1/2 months.................way faster than i ever expected, but so glad it went quickly. melissa

I had my initial consult on 27 Nov 2006. Surgery is scheduled for 4/18. Almost 5 mos. Not as fast as I'd hoped, but reasonable. DD

I saw my surgeon 2/8/07 and we scheduled surgery for 4/4/07. I got my insurance approval in about 3 weeks

Mine only took like 3 months,,,

I have Humana and had to do a current 6 month diet plan with a dietician. So I was ready to file last year over the summer but withdrew my application until my 6 month plan was over and then I was approved immediately. I was hoping to have my surgery by June or July of 2006 but as you can see it is April of 2007. It really depends on your insurance company. If you are denied write a letter to appeal. M.Y.

I met with my surgeon on Jan 11, submitted to insurance on Feb 28, approved on March 12...so 2 months. I scheduled my surgery for April 17 (my choice). I could have had in this month. But wanted a little time to prepare..

My consult was on January 11 and my surgery is on April 4, so almost 3 months. I wanted it to go faster than it did and was disappointed at the time it took, but all in all I'm glad things went down the way they did. I had no problems with insurance or any medical clearances. Anna
