Hi Jen, So far I have all my vitamins ready for after my surgery other than my iron supplement. I have the flintstones gummies vitamins, chewable orange juice flavored vitamin C, Viactiv Calcium soft chews, and Vit B-12 tablets(1000mcg). I am going to ask my surgeon if he can prescribe me an iron supplement. I hear that he can prescribe one that looks like a small green m&m and has no taste. I also have some of my protein supplemtents. I use the Unjury and GNC brands. The chocolate is good. I have a vanilla flavored container, but have not tried it yet. I am also going to order the Unflavored and Chicken Broth Flavored brand from Unjury. I hope to get the order out this week for them. I also have the S/F jello, S/F+F/F pudding, S/F popsicles, Crystal Light, eggs(Regular and Egg Beaters type), refried beans, Chicken broth, etc. for after my surgery too. I still need to get things prepared for the puree stage of the post op diet. That is what I will work on when things get closer to my surgery. As far as helping you out, I think that you have done a great job at getting things ready already. I really don't have any suggestions for things that you need to stock up on, but would love to read other replys that you get. I wish you the best of luck with your surgery, and look forward to seeing you on the losers bench! Clayton

Hi Clayton, what kind of vitamin c did you get? does it taste ok? Also check with your nutrionist about your B-12 and your calcuim, I was told that we only absorb calcuim citrate and the only viactiv that I found was calcuim carbonate, and with the b-12 it either needs to be a shot or sublingual that you put under you tongue, because b-12 is absorb in the stomach and broken down by the acids which we no longer have. Let me know if you find out anything different. lol Jen

Hi Jen, I have the Spring Valley brand of Vitamin C(Got it at Walmart- 180 tablets). It is really good, probably the best I have tried so far! I also have the Member's Mark brand(You can get this at Sams Club and it has 300 tablets) of Vit C, but it has one flavor that I do not like. Pina Colada- Yuck! LOL! Other than that one flavor the rest are good. I will definately check with my surgeon on all my vitamins and see what he says. The last time I met with the nutritionist(yesterday - and I will not be meeting with her again until after my surgery) I did ask her about if it was ok to take the viactiv calcium and Vit B-12 tablet after surgery and she thought it would be. The only reason why you were told that we absorb the calcium citrate is because it is the best type of calcium out there. Basically all I mean is that it is the best absorbed. Don't use the Coral type. That is the worst type to use and is not absorbed well. The Calcium Carbonate(viactiv) is OK to use, it is just not as absorbed a what the Calcium Citrate is. If you can find something that is in the form of a chewable or soft chew form that is good tasting and has the Calcium Citrate in it LET ME KNOW!! LOL.. I would love to buy that type instead of what I have. It is very hard to find something with the Calcium Citrate in it in a Soft Chew or Chewable form that tastes GOOD! lol... I will probably stick with the Calcium Carbonate until I get back up to par after the surgery and am feeling well enough to switch back to the Calcium Citrate. Hope this helps you out and thanks for replying to my message! Clayton

I found the most delicious calcium carbonate. I bought it to use just preop and then I will switch to the citrate, It is made by Adora and I got it at The Vitamin Shoppe. 500 mg of calcium in either milk or dark chocolate. OMG!!! What a treat. the dark chocolate is fabulous. Tasts like a little Dove bar. It's a treat to eat it,

Hi Clayton, Thanks for the info, it's good to know if I can't find a good tasting calcium citrate. I will have to go get the vit c, I'm going to walmart this weekend...ugh..I hate going there for some reason the ones in New Jersey are so crowded and never have enough lines open, most of the time it's a 20 minute wait in line. So I only go when I have a long list. Let me know if you find anything else that might be useful. lol Jen
