I have been at the same weight, give or take a few pounds, since April. But like you I am starting to learn about the real me. I would like to lose at least 30 more pounds. I have been looking into Plastic surgery, but I dont believe that I will be able to afford it when the time comes, so I am trying to get use to the excess baggage. I am doing more, than I ever thought I could do over a year ago. I seem to stay cold, unless it is really HOT outside. My husband is paying more attention to me now than he ever did. Which is a miracle in itself. If I had to do it all again I would in a heartbeat. I am really watching the carbs now, because it seems I was getting to much. I am not doing much exercise, but I try to do what I can. Hope everyone else is doing okay. Kathleen

I'm just wondering how all the April babies are doing????? How is your progress? What are your struggles? What are your greatest joys? Are you at goal?? Can you believe it's been 15 months?? I am 30 pounds from goal (surgeon's goal). I've lost at total of 155. My struggles are still the same but seem to be getting better and becoming more of a certain lifestyle change for me now. ie: using food for emotional needs, continuing my pouch rules DAILY (water, portions, protein, vitamins, exercise, etc), learning to love the new "saggy" body although I have had a tremendous weight loss. My greatest joy is the increase in self esteem and ability to do more activities such as taking tennis lessons (huh? me?) Although I still struggle with body image issues I am being more insightful and learning more about the real me - who I really am without the layers of fat I was hiding under. I'm a definite work in progress How are you doing?

Hi Linda, Hang in there. I am at a stall too. I made it to my goal. My goal was to weigh 156 which gave me a normal BMI. I am 5 ft. 6 in. tall. My highest weight was 301, surgery weight was 291 and today I weigh 148 but would love to get to 140. I am going to have some plastic surgery soon, will know on the 24th. Just wanted to wish you the best and say to hang in there, it will come off. Carol

Topic: 1st fill
HI there, well I had my first fill yesterday my surgery date was April 3rd and I have lost 62lbs so far with the lap band. I never thought I would ever beable to do this, but I have been doing well. Well my first fill was interesting, I am back drinking carnation and liquids, I hate that part. I dont feel like it is to tight, but I do feel like when I drink that I have a big air bubble. Needless to say I dont like it. I am not wanting to even drink or anything because of the discomfort?

Linda, have you tracked your in intake, I use sparkpeople.com. You might find out that you are not eating enough. When we take in too little our bodies metabolism can slow down and we won't burn calories. Also if your are exercising, try and mix it up a bit. A change in routine can help things along also. If you aren't exercising give it a try it will help burn calories and help you feel emotionally better. You didn't mention how much you have lost and in what time period. I bet if you average it out you have been losing at an average rate. Myself I am still struggling to reach my goal..I have realized that my weight loss happens in stages. Nothing for sometimes weeks and then a few pounds gone. So, hang in there, don't throw in the towel. Wishing you all the best. Sher

Hello , All who take the time to read this.Even though this was not my first strapling procedure,I had it done in 92 it was only a stapling and a ring. That did get dislogged. Anyway back to my subject.I am down today to 195 ...........2 weeks ago I thought I was down more .I eat so little ,cottage cheese, some salad etc. We dont eat meat and I eat some chicken but very little nibbles. My age is now 61,so this has been slow for me but my regular Dr thinks its so good to be slow. Now I think it has stopped loosing all together.WHY? Does anyone out there had this happen.I know I should go to meeting but they are not clsoe and they are up the freeways.Yuck who wants that.I live in southern orange county california! My life is happy,I will be marreid to 36 years this next month. But my weight is getting me down.Going up my middle I have been cut open twice, another yuck, and,my boobs have to be taken down to a normal size. They hurt my back and I dont think 38-G.....was made for me. I would love to hear form more of you that have lost or evn made it to your goal.Mine is lucking out there somewhere but I dont know where yet? HELP!!! Linda

Lol, think of the talent if you could do it on demand! I love the rumbling story! And you handled it gracefully and honestly! Congratulations on your wow moments. Maybe there is a lull on them, but I know they are still awesome when they happen and they are always welcome! Also congrats on the weight loss. I think we still have a few more months for the honeymoon, but from what I've read, we can still continue to lose weight even after that. You look wonderful and thanks for sharing! Sue
