i started at 265 and got down to 173 for like 1 day then back up to 177 stayed there until this past thanksgiving and am up to 180-183 depending on the day....

Happy belated Birthday, what a gift to yourself settling for a size 6 is just amazing.
With our 2 year mark coming up fast it just amazes me how far we have come.....

Okay:
March 2006: 399lbs (starting)
April 2006: 371lbs (preop)
Lowest: 165lbs
Today: 170lbs.
I tend to go between 165 and 170 with no particular rhyme or reason. I do know that at certain times during the month (ha) I now notice (where I never did before) that I tend to GAIN along the lines of 7-8 or sometimes even 10LBS OF WATER. But as soon as that goes away, the water goes with it. I guess it happens to everyone, but it's new to me. Right now, I'm still in the process of shedding the extra water, so within a few days, I should be right back down to maybe 166-168 which is where I am most of the time.
I would like to get rid of the last 15, but I guess now I'm just like Joe Average and have to work hard to get that done, haha.

I hope your surgery went well.
A co-worker had a double mastectomy in December. She elected not to have the reconstructive surgery. Now she goes around telling everyone that she has a "sunken treasure"

Happy belated Birthday Joan. I know what you mean---I turned 59 in September and feel so much better about myself that i don't mind being this age. I had lost 90 pounds to goal at another time in my life (much younger) and felt great only to have that weight come back with a lot more. Now I feel calm and know I have a great tool and have HOPE this time---I know I can keep it off. I am having a ball buying clothes now, cheap ones though as PS is coming up this summer, and physically feel so wonderful. I hope to join you in the size 6 to 8's soon. Congratulations on you 58th birthday and you health. Praise God indeed for our surgery and our April friends!! Julia

I was wondering if you had the knee replacement surgery. How are you doing with that? When I was in the hospital from my ps, my roommate was a woman who'd had a hip replacement and I felt so bad for her. Are you doing ok with it, doing rehab and all?
My ps gave me the binder after surgery and then since I ended up getting it kind of mucky from the incisions and all, they gave me a 2nd one. But I had bought one pre-op because I didn't know they were giving me one. As a matter of fact, they put the binder on me following the surgery and I woke up with it on. There is a website called makemeheal dot com that sells different garments. I would ask your ps if they will provide the garment.
My ps also said that panty girdles were just as good as compression garments and I ended up buying a few of them because they are actually easier to use when I go to work and I like the sleek line they provide.
