Topic: Monday WOW moments
Happy Monday everyone! I hope you all had a good weekend. I did a ton of housework because my mom is coming to California to visit on Thusday!
My wow moment this weekend was me trying to find a new sports bra. I have been wearing the same one from pre-surgery. My marathon-runner friend laughed at me and said, "you need a Medium or a Small!" I "pshaw'ed" her. Then I was at Target picking up a Large sports bra when I felt adventurous and grabbed a Med. one. It fit!!! It didn't have enough support so I didn't buy it, but the Large was too BIG!
Ok, now your turn!
Topic: RE: Is weightloss over?
When I hit 80% of my excess body weight lost, my surgeon said, "well, you have hit the goal for your surgery... anything else you lose is going above and beyond." I panicked! I wanted to lose 100 pounds! But what he said made sense. The surgery is supposed to make you lose around 80% of your excess body weight and keep it off. Anything above that is your own hard work. Which is cool. I feel more of a sense of accomplishment for every pound I lose now. The surgeon said that it would take me 6-9 months to get the last 15-20 pounds off.
I tried to do the liquid diet, but failed miserably. Let me know how you do!

Happy Belated Birthday, Joan! I was working my tail off this weekend, so I didn't check the boards. I hope you had a fabulous day!

Thanks for all your input. It's nice having others who are at the same point as you in your journey. I will mix things up and see what happens. Wish me luck?

Rebecca, how fantastic! Congratulations on your weight loss. I am hoping to hit 169 by April 4th. Then I can cheer right along with you.

Welcome Julia, Don't despair. It sounds like you need to shake things up a bit. Maybe changing your exercise routine a bit by alternating your aerobic exercises on the bike with some strength training to build some muscle which will help burn more calories. Double check your food intake, go back to basics protien first then small amount vegetable or fruit. Stay away from those bad carbs like white bread, potatos, and pasta. My nutritionist said recently that I should be getting 900-1000calories a day. Sometimes if you are not getting enough calories in and you are exercising up a storm your body will try and keep all those calories as it thinks you are starving it. Also shoot for 60-70 grams protien a day.
Alot of us have had our weight loss slow down or stall, you are not alone. You can continue to lose. Hang in there. Try and shake it up a bit.
