Topic: Coming back home!
Hello all, I have not been in this forum in a very long time...I was being very 'teenager-like'...thinking I had this all under control. Well, today I weighed myself and for the first time I've actually gained weight...only a couple of pounds, but enough to scare the bejezus out of me and for me to realize that I AM NOT in control of this, and I CANNOT do this alone. So, I went back to my OH site to post a public announcement that I will get back on track, but as I posted my note I realized that my (our) one year anniversary is coming up! That really caused me to analyze where I am right now vs. where I want to be. So, for those of you who are also not losing or even worst - gaining - PLEASE keep in touch with me - let's get back on track together! I am (was) a member of another Surgery Weight Loss forum and they posted a plateau 'diet' that I will follow for one week (the suggested time frame)...if anyone else knows of any good plateau or 'get-back-on-track' meal plans, please let me know. I understand there may be some posted here, so I'll browse around here also. Thanks for listening! (PS - here is the plateau plan, if anyone is interested in seeing it) Breakfast: Omelet with egg whites to yoke ratio of 2:1 or all egg whites You may add salt, pepper, onions, seasoning to your omelet You may add 1/2 cup of chopped meat, seafood or bacon to your omelets 1/2 grapefruit Calorie free beverage Lunch: 4-6 ounces of lean meat, chicken or fish 1/2 cup of chopped spinach or broccoli 1/2 grapefruit Dinner: 4-6 ounces of lean, meat, chicken or fish 1/2 cup of chopped spinach or broccoli 1/2 grapefruit Snacks: If hungry throughout the day you may have any of the following in unlimited quantity Calorie Free Jell-O Jerky If hungry for something sweet or salty snack may have the following in limited quantity: 2-3 ounces of salted, unsalted or honey roasted nuts (no more than 1 time/day) 8 ounces of fat free, sugar free yogurt ( no more than 1 time/day) No more than 1 frozen yogurt ice cream bar or sandwich (diet type) per day

Having my "Skinny" bother over this weekend. I'm actually in smaller pants then him. Well he does have about 5 inches in height over me. But ever since we were kids, he's been as thin as a stick and I always had a little extra (which later on turned into a lot) of weight. Can't wait to stand next to him and have my wife click off a picture.

Topic: An update on my mother
Thanks for your thoughts on my mother. It seems that after a battery of cardiology tests, she is fine. But while she was in the hospital, she was somewhat disoriented so my sibs and I wanted her tested. (Her old sister has Alzheimer's and her parents both suffered with senility and dementia, so it runs in the family.) My mother is also scared because she doesn't have the best memory. We try and comfort her by reminding her that even at her best, she's a ditz. Anyway, they did a psych evaluation on her and there was some minimal short term memory loss, but she passed the test. We are still concerned for her future and plan on meeting over the next few months to make sure that one of us knows what's going on with her finances (we don't want to one day find that she hasn't paid her bills in 6 months) and talk to her about power of attorney and such, but for now we are thrilled that she is doing well. She has to do a low fat, low sodium, low sugar diet - translation, no fun foods for her. Because of our little snowstorm this week, she has been staying at my brother's house so she's not by herself and according to my mother, she is being pampered as well she should be. So again, I thank you for your thoughts and prayers for my mother and our family. Stay warm and have a great weekend, Sue

Topic: STABBING PAIN IN STOMACH???
Hello All: Question for you. Starting Wed., I have been having this stabbing pain in my gut. It is on the left side under my rib cage. Everytime I take a drink or eat something, and it goes down....I get a stabbing pain when it hits my pouch. I am not having any trouble keeping it down or getting it down. It just seems to reach my pouch and then stab me! It only happens when I swallow or eat. Sometimes it feels like I have gas there? Anyone have this??? What was it??? Shelly
