Topic: Carb cravings
Hi folks, I've been reading the April 2006 forum for a little while now because I like to see how everyone is doing that is as far out as me. I've lost about 135lbs so far, down from 338lbs, but it seems like everyone is so much closer to their goal. I'd like to get down to 148 so I have some wiggle room. I haven't lost any significant weight since November. My carb cravings are back full force and from 2pm until about 6pm I struggle terribly with the urge to binge on carbs. I know I'm working my tool as much as I need to. Has anyone else had this kind of trouble? I wonder if I have lunch as my morning meal and breakfast for lunch if that would help since I would consume more carbs with oatmeal or cereal? I love any suggestions. Thanks, Jenn.

Well, I lost 5 and 1/2 lbs. When I started back eating, I found I really wanted to fill up on carbs. Today is a new day and I am determined to eat well and get all my liquids in. You did really well too! Hopefully we can continue on the losing side

I uploaded my pic in the red suit on my profile....I took some in bedroom because I was sending my daughter and sisters of the remake I did there. I love red clothes but really love browns and aqua in my bedroom and browns throughout my house.

6 pounds in one week? Wow! That is great! I am trying it today....I have been indulging in too many carbs. Thanks for the inspiration!

I'm going to try it, starting today. I will be taking some Jell-o to work. I think it is still considered clear liquid... liquid at room temp was the instructions I got from my Dr. after surgery. Broth and Jell-o today. You think decaf coffee with powdered creamer would be off limits?

Hi Kari, It has worked for me. No protein for 3 days then just add one protein shake a day for the next three days. I isn't easy but now that I can eat again, I am not as anxious or interested in eating as I was before. I don't think I would want to do it often but occationally, would be o.k. Let us know how it works for you if you decide to try it. I have to say the first couple of days I ate about 2 ounces of almonds but after that--just the liquids. Julia

So for the first 3 days, you don't do protein? Just clear liquids? Heck - I do 2-3 protein shakes a day now plus meals. I'm willing to do it though if it will make my scales move.

Yes let's celebrate, it is almost time for first anniversary!
Gus you have accomplished an amazing weight loss in only 10 months. I know that you will reach your goal.
I have been working harder the past month journaling my food intake and exercise. I have been meeting my exercise goals and find I am challenging myself each day. I have lost 97lbs so far. I will meet my goal too. It may take me a little longer than some but as I see and feel the results it only encourages me to continue. This tool we have been given is miraculous . I have never been able to have such success losing weight before. I only pray that as long as I use my tool as I should that I will be able to maintain my weight loss. None of us wants to go back to the way we were. I now feel better than I have felt in many, many years.
