Topic: RE: Ok April buddys....how is everyone doing?
This was the first chance I had to check back in and I am so happy that so many of you reponded with how great you are doing...
I just want to sing and dance I feel so great....and yeah I know what it's like to know park as far away from the door just to get in a walk....which feels great....instead of how close can I get cause walking was just a chore.
No more high blood pressure...no more diabetes....no more inhalhers...just plain feeling great!
I saw my surgeon at support group this week and he was amazed and can't wait to get me in for the yearly checkup to see if the blood work shows what he is seeing....happy and healthy me....
Thank all of you for always being here to lend support and just making me feel good!

I can't believe how quickly 11 months has passed. Despite my early problems after the surgery, I am so glad I did this and I feel fantastic. I have lost 161 lbs so far and I'd like to lose another 20, but I'm getting to a point where people are telling me not to lose any more weight. Which is kind of ironic for me!
I have started my documentation stuff for the plastic surgery and now am kind of hoping that I can plan for that in Jan. 2008.
I feel so healthy and relaxed these days. I do alot of walking and not only do I find it wonderful exercise wise, but I find it a great way to de-stress myself from home or work.
Thanks to all my fellow April people for sharing this along with me!

You're welcome for the card I enjoy making cards.
I hope they fix your knee soon. I'll keep you in my prayers.

Thanks Sue. The Phlebitis will go away on it's own from doing the hot soaks and keeping my feet up. The valve that is not working needs to be surgically repaired and they need to do something (not exactly sure yet since I didn't see the surgeon) to the vericose veins. There are a lot of different things they do to either seal them up or remove them. I'm just not sure what they'll do yet.

Thank you Julia My Husband works a lot and my older son is off at college. That only leaves my 15 yr old who is recovering from mono so there's no one to wait on me. I'm taking it easy and keeping my legs up as much as possible. Luckily I was all caught up on housework and laundry so I'm not behind yet. My son and I are just laying around watching tv and stuff. Maybe I could make the dogs do laundry? LOL! I found that I can stand at the sink with my foot up on the counter and do dishes while keeping my foot up so I'm staying on top of dishes.

Thank you No, I just have phlebitis, not mono. My 15 yr old son has mono.

So Lizzie do you have mono and phlebitis? I am glad your son is better. I know it is hard to stay put and let others serve you, but please let someone help you when possible and stay off your leg. Keep us posted. I will pray. Kim M.

Hi Lizzie,
I'm glad that your son is doing better and improving from the Mono.
I'm sorry to hear about the phlebitis and I hope that it heals without surgery. I will keep your family in my thoughts and prayers.
Take care,
Sue
