had my surgery on april 19....lost 130lbs going from a size 22/24 to a 0 or kids 14. i can run, play with the kids.....i guess i just feel "normal". people who didnt know mw before the surgery dont believe that i was ever big. but i show pics...i am proud of all of us and what we have accomplished this past year!!! may we all keep up the good work and continue to support each other. this is a chance at a new life, and i just keep in the back of my mind that if i dont pay attention that i can end up back where i started take care all of you~ jen

I had my surgery on April 18th and have lost 140 pounds and maintained it for the past few months. I feel great and have started exercising on the treadmill. In January I only did 10 miles, in February 35 miles, and already this month I've done 57 miles. It won't be long and I'll be joining Jenn in the 5k race events. My wife had her surgery on April 7th and has lost over 170 pounds. We've moved to a new state, new jobs, and it's just been an amazing year. Everyone in the April group has done wonderful. Floyd

Thanks for your encourage to continue and everyone is encouraged to just glean from us who post and if you decide to post that is great too. I want this to be a blessing and help to whoever reads it. I know I learn a lot by what others are trying in their diet and it jumps starts me to try new things. I am such a purest that I find one thing and tend to stick with it and not get creative. Joan M

Hello Joan, I hope April is a easier month for you. I can relate to your difficulties as I have the need to have both knees and a shoulder possibly replaced because of degenerative joint disease, but the thought of going through surgery now is not very appealing I really want to lose some more weight first. But I can say I am dealing with the pain much better after weight loss, just imagine how difficult it would be if this had happened to you before you had WLS. My weight loss has slowed way down again, nothing this month so far. I appreciate your Ethel wants to know postings, it has encourage me to keep track of my daily in take even if I don't post it on line here I track it on sparkpeople web site too. I usually post in the evening so I get everything I might of eaten in the total I am not much of ahead of time planner. So I will check back later. Thanks, SHer
