Thank you, Sher. I hope things level out a bit. My brother and sister in law are a godsend in volunteering to have her live with them.
I didn't really do anything after the PS that I didn't do before. My PS said they took off about 8 lbs of skin with the surgery. Everyone including me, thought it was a lot more than that. So I basically lost the skin and 2 lbs extra.
My sister has a few more months to go and I think she is hoping for October for her surgery. She has the 6 months to go through and she is doing all her tests (sleep apnea, etc).
I wish you well and good luck with your PS. When are you scheduled?
Take care,
Sue

Hi Sue, HAPPY 2nd SURGIVERSARY!
WOW! 195LBS GONE FOREVER!
Sorry about your mom, I hope you get things all situated for her soon. It is wonderful that you and your sibblings are working together on this stressful matter.
I hope I can say the same thing after my PS this summer. I would be estatic if I lost another ten pounds. Did you do anything different after surgery to lose the 10 pounds?
I hope things all go well for your sister, she is lucky to have someone close to her as a source of support and a mentor.
Take care
Sher

Kathleen, it is good to hear how you are doing. I hope your heart problem is under control. You are as you know so much better off with your weight loss even though you have not met your goal. You have done very well and I am sure you will get back on track. If you want, join a group of us on the weight loss graduates board and check in with the accountability thread each day to monitor food intake and nutrition it might help you some. Also you will see that you are not alone. Many of us have not gotten to goal. Being more healthy though should be our goal, not a specific weight per say.
HAPPY 2ND surgiversary!

Me, too, me, too!
I just celebrated my two year anniversary last Friday. I was supposed to have my appt with my surgeon, but they had to cancel and I had it yesterday. I am doing really well and he is very pleased with me. I lost 195 lbs and have been maintaining 130 lbs. I had my LBL and brachioplasty in Jan and lost the last 10 lbs after that.
On a personal level, things have been chaotic the past few weeks. My son just made his final college decison the same week that my mother was diagnosed with dementia. She took off from my brother's house in the middle of the night because she didn't know where she was, so she now needs someone with her all the time.
My siblings and I have been working on all the legal and financial affairs with my mother so we can determine long and short term needs on her behalf.
My sister is now in the process of her 6 month period before surgery. She is going through the same surgeon and hospital as I did. I am very excited for her.
Hope everyone else is doing well.
Take care,
Sue

I am a little late, but better late then never, lol.
I have lost 140 pounds since my surgery date April 24, 2006. I had some health problems last Aug, with my heart and have gained 30 pounds back. But that is okay, cause I am now trying to get back on track and lose the 30 plus more.
I havent reached my goal, in fact I am still about 70 lbs from it. I am not sweating it yet, though.
I had a Panniculectomy April 7, 2008. I am still recovering from that. It wasnt too bad, not like I thought it would be. I still havent lost all the weight from that yet.
I still have a long road ahead of me, but I am doing so much better than I was two years ago.
I wont trade the surgery for anything.
Thanks everyone for being my friend and mentor. Without this board I would have been lost the past 2 yrs.
Your April buddy,
Kathleen
