Hi again Jeanne, Your pictures are awesome. You look so good. You can take care of that hernia in a little bit. Hasn't the year gone by fast. Just think, a year ago tonight, we could not get out of the bathroom---that nasty prep!!! I would certainly go through it again if I had to!
Cheers to us. Julia

Jeanne, Congratulations on ONE YEAR!! Isn't it great. Tomorrow is our surgiversary. I am hoping to lose another pound by tomorrow so will update then!
It really is a very emotional time for me, thinking back on what has happened for all of us in a year, I sit here with tears in my eyes. Tears of joy, relief, excitement and praising God for this wonderful oportunity. Julia

Happy anniversary! You have done fantastic. Try not to be discouraged about your hernia, it can be repaired. I can relate as I have one too. Let us know what your doctor says about it.

Topic: RE: Ultram or tramadol???
Kim,
Ultram is a synthetic opioid. (Opioid is a chemical substance that has a morphine like action). It is for pain. It should be ok for us to take it as long as you have no other medical issues that would conflict with it's use or on a medication that would interact with it. When I wasn't allowed to take any nsaids because of an underlying kidney problem I was able to take ultram.
Of course your doctor would be the one to give a final ok. You should find another surgeon so you can continue getting followed every year and get necessary blood work done, and a surgeon experienced with gastric bypass patients would be best as they are the most familiar with what to look for. Most general practitioners are not as knowledgeable about issues that pertain to us postop rny patients.
Best of luck.

Sue. how fantastic! You deserve an ovation....clap clap clap! You have to be feeling just wonderful. I bet if you tried to pick up the amount you lost you wouldn't be able to do it. Isn't it a wonder we were even walking around at all before our weight loss.
Take care
