Isopure H2O
I went to GNC tonight for some papaya enzymes (I heard they help in case things get stuck in your pouch...taste pretty good too!)
But on my way out I discovered Isopure now makes a water product. It only has 5g of protein in 20oz (instead of the 40g their protein drinks have) but it's pretty tastey with no filmy aftertaste thing. If you drink 3 a day to get your water in that's an extra 15g of painlessly added protein. I'm drinking the passion fruit flavor now which is real good, it comes in a bunch of flavors.
Just thought I'd mention it in case anyone was interested.
I think it is great that they are making protein water. There are brands out there that have higher amounts of protein in them tho. Im not sure if you have heard of Stacker 2 Protein Water, but here are the Nutrition Facts: Serving size: 1 bottle; Amount per serving: Calories: 80; Total fat: 0g; Cholesterol: 0g; Sodium: 40mg; Potassium: 90mg; Total carbohydrate: 1g; Dietary fiber: 0g; Sugars: 0g; Protein: 20mg; Calcium: 15%; Phosphorus: 6%; Magnesium: 8%
20 mg of protein and I know there is another one out there somewhere that has close to 40 mg of protein, but do you think my brain can remember the name of it?.. Hahaha No.
Was it you that said the GNC has a good no flavor protein powder? I dont think we have a GNC here. Im taking BioPure right now. It has no flavor in it, but it isnt as high in protein as I would like. It only has 19 mgs per serving. But I guess that is the price I have to pay to be able to eat the extra protein without throwing up.
Protein talk always intrests me. LOL
It's the filmy aftertaste thing I don't like about most of the higher concentrations of protein...so the 40g water proabbly wouldn't be any better than the 40g drinks from Isopure. 20g might be tolerable, I'll have to look around for it.
Yes it was me that suggested the GNC powder. It only has 21g of protein per scoop so it's not much more than what you're already using. www.gnc.com has a store locator if you want to see if there are some near you. I agree that the powders ar emuch easier to deal with than any of teh drinks I've tried.
Hey guys. Thanks for posting this info. So far, I've been having about 6 oz of Silk brand chocolate soy milk and mixing it with 1 scoop of "100% Whey" protein powder, chocolate flavor. They didn't have a flavorless option but one scoop has 24g of protein and added to the 6 g in the soy milk, that gives me a chocolaty treat with 30 oz of protein.
I've been really tired the last few days and maybe the protein water would help. Do either of you know about liquid vitamins? I've been having trouble eating anything beyond the puree stage and taking vitamins is no fun but I can't afford to go all chewables right now.
Any thoughts on any of the above would be great.
