What did you do today?
Hello
I returned back to work on April 17th and my surgery was April 5th. Let me tell you how much fun that was! I sit at a desk but never realized how much I would get up and down out of the chair.
I am on regular food now...
B- Weight Smart Oatmeal (ate about half of it)
S- Pack of Cheese Shapes (about 1oz per pack)
L- South Beach Wrap Meal (ate just the meat out of it)
S- Wheat Thins and Hummas (about 5 crackers and 2oz of hummas)
D- Lunch Meat and Cheese on 4 Wheat Thins
Does anyone else find it SOOOO hard to get the right amount of water down? I TRY, TRY, TRY and just can't do it.. so far I have had about 36oz maybe
I REALLY need lunch ideas for work.... I can only eat tuna so many days out of the week hehe
I am back to work part time this week and will be returning full time next week. I feel pretty good. I am not really hungry at all. Yesturday I had 2 cups of milk, 1/4 cup of cottage cheese, 2 oz of applesauce, 1/2 a bananna, tuna fish, and some baby fish crackers. I also had about 2 cups of water. I am really trying hard to get the protein in. I will be working a little longer today because I have a meeting to go to, so I hope I dont get too tired . Hope everyone has a wonderful day!!!!! Serena

Hey there - I'm just 2 weeks out and doing pretty good. Everything is going down ok and I've started solids now. The solids part is alot more tricky than liquids cause on liquids you can basically have what you want whenever. But on solids you have to wait before and after you eat to drink so the timing is what is getting to me right now. I'm finding it difficult to get all the liquid in but I think its getting better each day. I had a scrambled egg for brunch (used pam) and 1/2 pc toast, 15 teddy grahams with peanut butter for a snack, 60 g of tuna with calorie wise mayo and some carrots for lunch, 25 g of cheeze and a couple of crackers for snack. Had some milk and water in between. I think I got pretty close to the 60 g of protein today. I try to go for a few short walks each day or go to the grocery store, or mall to run errands. I'm getting cabin fever being in the house. I had a nice little walk today - the longest one so far other than my Saturday trip to the mall. I've had a pain in my left side since Monday and it seems to be getting worse - think I may call the doctor today. I called the bariatric clinic nurse yesterday and she said it's probably just muscle pain but probably should call the doc. I didn't thinking maybe it would be gone today - but last night when I went to bed it was really bad. I'm hoping its just muscle pain ie I think that would be the group of muscles I use when getting out of bed. But it is just above 2 of my port incisions so hard to say....the body has to heal. Right now this is the only thing holding me back.
Question: For those of you starting solids or been on them for awhile. It seems to me that it kinda still goes right through me - ie I eat and have to go the the bathroom a short time later - does this get better. I don't want to be like this when I go back to work.
How nice that so many people are posting. My surgery was two weeks ago. I'm leaving for my first post op office visit in about 10 minutes I've been walking every day. I go out in front of my house and walk up and down the street once or twice a day. When I go to the bathroom I walk around the house a few times and after dinner I've been going for a longer walk, adding a little each day.
I'm eating poached eggs, tuna mixed with cottage cheese, turkey mixed with cream of chicken soup so it is moist, triscuits, Cream of Wheat... that's about it for now. Tonight at dinner I was going to add a veggie. I eat three meals a day and have three protein shakes a day as my snacks. I'm not having any trouble getting my water in - even with the stopping drinking a half our before and after meals. I was worried about that at first.
I haven't felt tired at all until today. I pushed myself last night and walked 4 extra blocks... I'm not sure if that's it or if maybe it's the dreary weather today.
Does anyone want to meet in chat tonight? There's a link for chat in the upper left hand corner of the page. I think it's just for April 2006... not sure though. My Hubby Dude is working nights tonight so I'd love to meet up in the chat room and chat about what we're all doing.
HEIDI.... maybe that would help you out to since you don't have a support group near you. We could organize a weekly or monthy April 2006 Chat.
