Update
Well, I have been home from the hospital since Wednesday and had my surgery on the 3rd of April. Today is the first day I finally am feeling human again. I weighed myself and discovered that some of the water weight/IV weight is coming off. At my initial consult in February I weighed 312.6 pounds. The day of surgery I was at 304. Today I am at 291.6. I feel better just seeing the scale move even a little.
I am in between phase 2 and 3 of eating (couldn't have the protein shakes in the hospital, so I am doing them now along with stage 3). I never feel hungry which sure is different than before. My stomach does make a lot of noise; which is also weird. I struggle to get my water in, but I figure if I am trying to that is the best I can do. I am a little worried about craving chocolate when the kids get their Easter baskets in the morning, but I have great family support to help me through it.
I did have some bleeding issues yesterday, so I am now off my Fragmin and Augmentin. I have Previcid, but the pharmacy gave some type of gel cap instead of the pills, so I can't take it. Dh is taking it back in the morning to get the correct med type. I am still have to take neb treatments for the pneumonia, but I hope to be done with those soon. I have been able to turn my oxygen down to 1.5 and can even take it off when in the shower or for short periods of time.
I guess that is all the news I have for now. I hope to get some before pictures up this next week.
Take care everyone and thank you all for the support and well wishes.
Monica
