My surgery is over and well......

I had my surgery on 03 April and would love to say all went well, but that wasn't the case. The first few hours after surgery was okay, but then I began to get very ill. I had developed bilateral pneumonia and my sats were down to 25. By the next day I was in ICU and not doing well. I finally came home from the hospital on the 12th and am trying to adjust to my new life. I am on oxygen, taking neb treatments, and was on all kind of meds until tonight. I now am having additional complications (a little TMI type if you know what I mean). I am now off my antibiotics and blood thinners and my husband is picking up some new meds. We are hoping that the bleeding issues will stop on their own, but if not I am back off to the ER and will be admited back into the hospital. I haven't eaten since 02 April and have not lost a SINGLE pound. I am frustrated, angry, depressed, and so many more things. If anyone else can relate...please let me know. TIA Monica

Monica, I cannot relate to you since I have not had surgery yet, but I just wanted to let you know how I sorry I am that you had complications. I will be praying for you. Darlene T.

How awful for you. I'll say some prayers that the worst is over and you will be feeling better soon.

OMG I am so sorry to hear how your post op is going...but you know it WILL get better...eventually. My prayers are with you...and I totally, completely know what you mean...I had my surgery on the 6th of April, and only had my first "meal" tonight for easter and I have lost nothing, nada, zip! I have decided that I am NOT going to weigh myself again until something, anything I own feels loose. Once my jeans loosen up, I think I will try again. All I can say is don't get down about it...it will suck out all your energy. Remember all that you have been going through, your body is "holding on for dear life" and eventually it will have to give up those pounds whether it wants to or not. We put a lot of emotional courage on the line to do this....we just need a little more to get through this stage. Let me know how you are doing Monica, I want to hear that you are on the mend, and on the losing side Sidney
