Hi all! i had my surgery 04/03/06(Monday) and the first few days was bad but by friday and Saturday I was just great! Didn't hurt but a little! But then came the hunger~~~ May have been head hunger, cause now its gone. Now I can feel my pouchie and the cold fluids going in.... very strange. I did have the BM problems.... yukky!! Didn't have any accidents thank God, but had to get hubbie to wipe.... how embarrasing! At the first week check up I was down 17 lbs... WOW!! That won't be happening again~~~ but it was fun while it lasted. My scale is sooooo different than my docs.... what should i do? I mean really off...11 lbs more at my house. So I guess I'll use my home scale to go by since I won't be going to the doctor for a month!! Good luck everyone.... I am pulling for all of you, including the preops and hopeful preops! Hugs, Tracey

Hi all, My lap RNY was 4/4 and everything has gone perfect so far. I've lost 13 lbs so far. I can't tell if my stomach is full or empty. I just don't seem to have much sensation at all of it being there at all. I am still on full liquids, soups, puddings, cooked cereal, applesauce, and such. I can't wait to get to pureed food next week. But I am afraid that when I eat things like that I won't lose. arrrrrrg, it never ends. I feel like I could go back to work, but I am going to take a full 4 weeks of vacation and enjoy the rest. Besides my vacation was almost maxed out and I would start losing it if I didn't take it. How long are most of you taking off? Teri

Lisa I just love that hat you are wearing. I had my surgery with Dr. Goodman in NJ on the 6th, got out of hospital the 8th and came home on the 13th (from NJ to Ontario) I feel awesome. I was kind of depressed that I hadn't lost any weight when I saw the surgeon post-op but that was less than a week out...so we'll see. The bloating was HOLY mother did they give me a baby in there????? for a few days but now it's gone down a lot. My incision is healing nicely, have to find someone up here to take out the staples or I will be doing it myself! I love my protein drink (I chose Unjury and it's wonderful) and tonight I had Easter turkey (pureed with low fat gravy) pureed carrots, and mashed potatoes. I think I ate about 3 oz and that was the end....everyone at the table was speechless when I said I was full! It was my first "real meal" and it was great! I am dying to get out exercising, have walked the dog a bit but not much. Pretty much trying to do the best I can the first few weeks, then I'll tackle the gym! PS> I loved reading what everyone had to say! OMG about the diapers and the husband helping with wiping....I swear for the first few days I just sat there and hoped it would "drip dry" LOL. You will all be glad to know that now a little over a week post op all is GOOD> God bless you all and Happy Easter and Passover Sidney

My surgery was on the 13th and I came home the evening of the 14th. I probably would have stayed another day if I weren't self pay as I am experiencing much more pain than I expected. I feel extremely bloated, swollen feet and abdomen about to burst. I have mostly had burping, but have not been passing much gas he other way. I also have not had a bm yet. I feel like both would really help. Got to go lay down now Dotsie

Hi all, I had my surgery on the 5th. Doing great. Today (Easter) was a bit hard as I cooked for my family. I am still on full liquids. I did take a part of a baked sweet potato and added chicken broth and a bit of Hoods milk and ran it through the blender 'till it was the consistency of liquid yogurt and ate it in a bowl so I was able to join with the rest of my family. I tried it with a bit of ham but, as you might have guessed, that didn't work, so sadly I passed on the ham. I go tomorrow to have my staples out. Mostly I feel pretty good accept for a burning sensation where one of my incisions are. Any ideas on that anyone? I have lost a total of 23 pounds since I started my pre-op to the pre-op diet the first part of March.
