Less than 15 hours to go!
Just got back from the hospital after having an intravenous vena cava filter procedure, I have had lots of procedures and tests over the years, but today I was so nervous! I think it was more about the beginning of my new life. I kept evaluating everything about the hospital for tomorrow. Well, good news. Everyone was very kind and obviously experienced with gastric bypass surgery patients. They had all the accommodations for large people without my having to ask and seemed excited for me, not judgemental. We'll see tomorrow how the inpatient experience goes, but I feel much more prepared now.
My friends and family have also really come through. I live alone in a 2 story house with 2 dogs so I will need some help, especially with the dogs. My sister and niece had the surgery last fall so they were the original organizers, but now everyone has joined in. I am so grateful. I'm not sure who will be here when over the next few days, but I have faith that everything will be fine.
Congratulations to all of the April rebirths. I'm very grateful that you are all here to share your experience and listen to mine. It is helping me so much.
Thanks,
Dotsie
