Hi Everyone! I am back to life! Yesterday was just an amazing day, I went from sore sore sore to well, not so sore! I awas clear headed and ready to take on the world! So so glad! No complications yet!! thank the Lord! I am having no problems with drinking or anything getting stuck(except pain capsules-- but doc called in a liquid). The only thing is I am hungry! I get in all my fluids, broth, jello, and vitamens, BUT I am hungry!! Its not head hunger, I have that too, but actual knawing grumbly hunger pains! Any suggestions? Hugs, Tracey

Yaaaaaaayyy!! I'm so glad to hear your surgery went well! Don't say, "no complications YET", it sounds like you're expecting to have them. Push those complication thoughts out of your mind! I've read that even though our new stomachs are as small as an egg, you still may have hunger pangs for awhile because it's not only about the pouch being filled up. The hormone, GHRELIN, is what stimulates our appetites. And after surgery the blood levels for this hormone drop, which causes us to be less hungry. Since everyone is different, some people's levels may not drop as fast as others. You sure it's not gas grumbling making you think it's hunger pangs ? Have you checked over on the March surgery board? Maybe they've more experience with this since they're further out post-op.

Hi Tracey - Glad to see you're up and about. My surgery was 4/4 and I have had absolutely no hunger pangs. But I have had a lot of rumblings and squeaks....things moving through the intestines. I have to watch the clock to make sure I don't miss meals because I could easily do so. I'm so happy to hear that you have not experienced any complications - let's both keep it that way!!!! I don't have any suggestions other than to make sure you eat when you are supposed to and that you eat as much as you're supposed to. Like Lisa said, perhaps your GHRELIN hormone has not yet dropped. Good luck! Bonnie

Hi Tracy, I'm so glad that your surgery went well. I don't have any suggestions since my surgery is not until the 18th, but I just wanted to send some well wishes your way. Darlene
