I have found the perfect way to make the next 12 days go fast...I have started my spring cleaning..yeah I'm nuts..it was snowing Wed...but I am washing floors, walls and carpet..changing curtains and bedspreads...I will be so tired that this surgery will be a welcomed rest...yeah right.. Hi Marianne, No you're not losing your mind, and you're not alone. I've been doing the same thing. I even bought a new bed spread, bed skirt, sheets, have cleaned out my closets, Sold all my good clothes on EBay and took my everyday cloths to Goodwill, all but a few outfits, Have to have something to wear.... spent 3 hrs today in WalMart reading lables and picking up a few things. The closer my date gets 4/12 the worse I get. Won't be much longer, we'll all need a good rest Take Care Hugs to you, Perry W.

Marianne, I am so jealous.. In my mind there are so many nesting things that I want to take care of before the surgery. It is a very primal urge. However, I had to stop taking Voltaren, an NSAID, for the surgery and I had no idea how much it was helping. Between arthritis, my weight, fibromyalgia and an auto immune inflammatory disease I am is so much pain, I can't sleep and it is tough to move. I took a pain killer today, but I don't want to be "stoned" for a week. I have too much to do at work and home. So I think I need to give up my plan to hang living room curtains, change all bedding and flip the mattresses, move all the bedroom furniture and lay down a rug, plant flowers, move bushes etc., etc.... Just getting the laundry done is going to be about it. On Tuesday I am going to take the dogs to the groomers (instead of doing it myself) and I have a maid service coming in. On Wednesday I have the IVC procedure and then Thursday the surgery. At least I will be coming home to a clean house and clean dogs! It's worth every penny. Enjoy your clean house. Dotsie

I like that idea..have some one else do it..I also took the dog to be done..but seriously..you take it easy..no reason to be crippled with pain when you have your surgery..new birthday..Think happy thoughts..you will be in my thoughts and prayers Marianne

It seems that alot of people have this same nesting thing going on. I too have been having these feelings. Only this weekend and one more to go for me and yes I'm thinking of changing the comforters - going to the summer stuff - want to clean the basement - that's a good weeks worth there, doing the floors, etc. I think we just want everything nice for our family before we go because we know that it will be awhile before we can do these things again. That being said - I've also been in alot of pain the past few days too and I'm spending alot of time on the internet reading the posts, etc. Not sure how much will get done. Also have to go grad dress shopping and get that done cause I won't be up to major girl shopping sprees for awhile. Do whatever it takes to keep you occupied and in good spirits. Good luck.
