Success- feeling good post op
Hi all,
I was at the hospital at 6 a.m. this morning, taken into surgery about 7:30 and was out in 40 minutes for my lap band procedure. I had quite a bit of initial pain the first couple of hours, but got a handle on it and some minor nausea. Made the two hour drive home with no problems.
I just wanted to let everyone who is approaching their surgery, know that I am another one who had great success with the procedure itself. I'm sure the prayers from all of you helped. I also have been talking to my body the last seveal weeks about accepting the help I am givng it and my new lifestyle. I affirmed an easy surgery and told myself I would awaken easily with energy and ease.
Thanks to all for prayers and encouragement. I'll keep you posted.

That's amazing, Mary! I don't think I've ever heard of this surgery as an outpatient.. when I read your post, my jaw dropped! I'm so happy that you are home and doing so well.
The book that I've been reading and the relaxation CD really emphasizes talking to your body as you did and also having your surgeon or anesthesiologist say positive statements during your surgery that will help with waking and recovery. So I'm using these techniques and plan on having this done during my surgery.
I look forward to following your progress. ~ Lisa V
Maybe I should explain, I didn't hop up and leave right at the end of surgery . In reading the earlier post, I realized some people may have thought I left right then. I was in recovery for a while, then in my room and of course, had to go tinkle before they would let me go. We were home by 4 p.m. though and it is a two hour drive. Thanks for your kind words and best of luck to you. I sincerely believe affirmations and positiive self talk helps to program us for success.
Congrats Mary,
I am so glad that you are doing well after surgery.......It is amazing what positive thinking does for the body. I am having surgery tomorrow and I am trying to get my mind and body in the right frame.....best wishes and looks like you are on your way to a speedy recovery,......
