I think I'm getting a little nervous...
Hi everyone I have an April date and I thought I should get on this board and start to get to know all of you. I've been lurking and reading some of your profiles and am very excited for you as a lot of you are having surgery this week.
I was doing fine until last night when I read a letter from my insurance co. in which one section said they do not accept pre-existing conditions but they were just checking to see how many days I'll be in the hospital, there was a place to appeal on the back. I'm pretty sure it's nothing but I sure would hate to get this far and have my insurance co. change their mind.
I also got a statement they sent to my doctor that said I was covered 100% so I guess I'll talk to someone from the office today and find out what's up. I'm pretty sure everything is OK and that I'm just getting a little nervous and apprenhesive.
I don't go in for surgery until the 17th so I'll be reading everyone's post on the 04/2006 board to see how you are doing since your surgeries. Let us know as soon as you feel up to it.

I just got a letter in the mail stating that our insurance doesnt cover wls. When we were told that they do. My Dr. takes a $5,000. fee that the insurance doesnt pay. He will do surgery with that. If it ends up that our insurance decides to back out, I guess we will owe the hopital quite a bill. From what I understand tho, if we pay something every month, they cant come after us. I hope this is true.
Great attitude Jennifer! Thanks for helping me think about this in another way... I have a surgery date and nothing will stop me now. 
I really think my insurance is going to cover it, but the way I read it is they will do a final review after the surgery, the doctor has to send them an operative report, that must be something they do after surgery, and they will make a final decision.
I hope your insurance will pay the fee for you. Did you get an approval from them yet?

I'm glad you decided to join us! I was a lurker for a loooong time, now they can't shut me up
