Your post is especially helpful. My date is April 4th and I am so excited. I know this is the best thing I have ever done for myself and I really appreciate your encouragement. I am finding that talking with post-ops is the best preparations we can get. I had a wonderful time at support group last night because I got encouragement from people who were as little as two weeks post-op to as much as 4 years post-op. It is such a loving community. Thanks for being a part of it. Diane

Greg how nice of you to post for us April preops. My surgery is for April 5th. I notice I am acting not quite like myself. Your suggestions were just what I needed. I have to check the messageboards each day to get the encouragement I need to get through each day of waiting. I am so happy my day will be here soon. Thanks Sher L

Thank you, Greg! How kind of you to give such encouraging words. My date is 4/28, so I'm not too nervous yet, but I flip flop a little. Your suggestions are very, very helpful. Thanks! Viv

Thanks Greg, and thanks again for the great advice. I have been reading profiles and you are right some of them can be a little scary. I will do exactly as you say, look at before and after pictures and use positive visualization. My only problem with that is I've been this size for so long now I can't even imagine what I will be like a year from now. Marie

Thanks Greg, It's so nice to know that you and others care and take the time to let us pre opts know they do, by shareing words of wisdom with us. I only have 11 days to go and as ready as I have felt like I've been for months, when you get down to the last days, I'm starting to get a little nervous. I want to do well, and do it for life. You are a very good example, and by the way, you're looking Great!! Take care, and thanks again! Perry W.

Hi Greg, I'm such a visual person and your suggestion made a huge impact on me. I still can't really picture myself a year out after surgery but I certainly no what life would be like without the surgery and I don't want that life anymore! I look at the before and after pics everyday to see if there are new ones posted. My daughter tells me I'm obsessed but it really does help. I'm looking forward to this journey although I feel a different emotion about it each day. One day I'm so excited I can barely contain myself and the next day I'm scared out of my mind. It helps so much to know that you and others out there that are on this journey are here to lend support and words of encouragement and wisdom. CONGRATULATIONS to you for all your success in your new life and most importantly THANK YOU for being there. Be well and God Bless. Dana

Hi Greg First let me say Congratulations! on your continued successful weight loss journey! A few weeks ago I got a book on preparing for surgery, before during and after, to help with anxieties, fears, etc. and to help with a faster less painful recovery. And I also got a relaxation/meditation CD that is REALLY helping me a lot. I plan on listening to it right up to when they're wheeling me into the O.R. It's all about focusing and visualization. So when I read your message I thought, now I know I'm on the right path . Thank you for your advice and for your thoughts. It's wonderful to receive support and encouragement from those who have been where we are now, who KNOW & UNDERSTAND. ~ Peace & Love ~
