which vitamins for you?
Hi Lulu
I am having the same problem. I have a long list of suggestion but I am confused as to the best one. I have decided to go with Centrum chewables because its a one a day and has all the vitamins and multivitamin a adult body needs. I still haven't decided on a calcium yet, but I am leaning towards bariatric advantage as for the Iron and sublingual....I have no idea. Have you decided on a shake? soup? pudding?
I'm planning to take the OptiSource ones from Walgreens (online, can't get them in the store). The only thing besides those that I'll need to take for awhile is Citrical (the doctor said it absorbs better than the other forms of calcium).
I'm also going to be taking biotin for my hair concerns since it already falls out as it is.
I am taking flintstones chewables (2 a day) and Naturmade Chewable Calcium. They said probably no Iron until 2 weeks post-op. So I haven't looked into it yet. B12, my surgeons only wants us to use injectable. They are not convinced that the other versions are reliable yet. So injectable is what I'll get (plus at the local support group some that are on sublingual don't like the taste at all).

Hi Lula, My nutritionist told me what to buy, and said for me to go ahead and start taking them, I got mine from walmart, and have been taking them over a month now.
Flinstone chewables (2)
Calcium(1)
She told me to wait on the iron, for Dr. to tell me what I needed.
I also bought a bottle of Biotin, for hair, but haven't started taking it yet.
Well girl time is passing, Our day will be here very soon,
see you at ECU!! Take Care! Best of luck,
Hugs to you!!

The strawberry flavored iron tabs from bariatricadvantage are great, I also bought my calcium from them in chocolate (but they also offer cinnamon, And mint) the chocolate taste almost like compacted choco milk powder (remember you need calcium citrate / not carbonate) for now i bought sublingual B-12...but am leaning towards the injections (just seem to be easier since we have to take all the other supplements) I bought a complete chewable vitamin from trader joes....and a liquid CO-Q 10 which is a liquid antioxident (they carry this @ GNC...it is pricey but will aid in the healing process)
personally i added 400 mg folic acid, & zinc lozenges to my regimen and i have some flax seed oil in (lots of people have told me this will help with digestion if i am having problems in that dept.)
I am using a vanilla soy protein powder for shakes i found @ trader joes and a really good powder from bariatricadvantage (i highly recommend this one) it's called "any whey protein" it is virtually tastless and can be used in baking, soups, etc...really a great product
~wishing you the best as you approach your date..(i am having surgery 4/5) see you on the losing side soon
