I have a date
Hi, everyone
My surgery date is Apr 11th. I ready for this new start. My oldest brother still trying to talk me out of it, but I said if you don't have nothing positive to say, please keep it to your self. This is a step I made and it would be nice to have family support, but I really don't think it's there or not really from there heart.
Hi.. Jacqueline...I am happy you have a date. I have kept my surgery a secret just for the sake of what u are dealing with. Family, friends, etc did not feel the pain that we feeling being overweight. I have told my bestfriend and sister that is gonna to have the surgery as well....as for everyone else that will just see the result. This is major surgery... so I pray that God will take care of me while I am under. Hope everything work out for u...Karen

I know what it's like not having everyones approval with your decision. But you are right in suggesting they keep their negative comments to themselves. I'm learning that most of the negativity from others is their lack of knowledge with the surgery and its benefits. They may have heard about the bad stuff and know nothing more than that. It is nice to have the support but it's ultimately your decision and as long as you are at peace with it and know it's the best thing for YOU and continue to be positive, hopefully they'll come around. I know it's not the same but just remember everyone here supports you and your decision. I wish you all the best!

Congrats on your surgery and standing up for yourself it is hard to go through this with out support but we are all here for you I too live in MD not sure where you are I am in Baltimore but I would love to be your support tool I dont have alot of people in baltimore my family is from tx so it is me and my friend he is a blessing but if there is anything you need feel free to email me and visit the board often we are all here for each other.......
