APRIL 4TH YIPPY

Hi all, I have a date.. It took me only 2 1/2 months to do all of this.. I honestly thought it would take month's I was totally shocked when I went in yesterday, My first talk with the Dr. and he said HOW about the 4th.. I was SHOCKED.. needless to say i start diet today, Atkins and I will go and do some stocking of my cupboard.. how long did it take anyone to actually get back on their feet and shopping?? i have 4 kiddos and I hope it won't be too difficult.. wish me luck.. thanks

Congratulations!! I wish you all the best with your surgery and recovery! I know someone who came home from the hospital and was grocery shopping two days later . And from reading many posts and journal entries, everyone's recovery time is different and whether they have complications. But you will not have any complications so you'll be up and running in no time .

HI Sherri, Congrats welcome to the april board as far as stocking your cupboard I wouldnt get too anxious alot of people that has already had surgeery said they did that and waisted alot of food cause our taste will change after surgery. Just buy a few things and play it by ear..... As far as the time you need to heal well depends on you and depends on if you are having open vs laparascopic if laparascopic I have a friend that gets around very well and she had it about a month ago. she had it lap and it was a piece of cake but the first week was a bit rough like sleeping she said so if you are having lap then you should be able to take care of the kids soon after surgery I would think a week or so afterwards hope this helps and best of luck on your surgery and a speedy recovery.
