I am supposed to be an outpatient so I expect to go home the same day. The one consistent thing I have seen is chapstick and a pillow. Moist wipes? I hate to sound stupid but why? I'm with the other person whose not wearing a bra home.

Hi CC Besides the robe, slippers, chapstick, toiletries, comfy clothes to leave the hospital in...... To deal with my anesthesia anxiety, I've gotten a book on preparing for surgery. It's also got some great suggestions to discuss with your surgeon on the "atmosphere" in the operating room. Also I have a relaxation/meditation CD that I'll listen to from now until they're wheeling me into the O.R. Both are supposed to help a lot with preparing for, during surgery, and recovery. And since I'm going to Colombia and my spanish isn't the greatest, I'll be bringing an english->spanish translation book (though my doctors say I won't need it, JUST in case!). "Got morphine? por favor!" Small bag of my crochet paraphernalia. A book or two to read. Copies of important documents: Living will, Durable Power of Attorney. One of those aromatherapy eye pillows Cell phone since I'm going to Colombia alone.. I'll want to call my family as soon after surgery as possible. I know cell phones are a in hospitals but they're gonna have to dangle me out the window or something (SUGGESTION for anyone going out of the country.. have international coverage - minimal charge - added to your cell just before you go. . reduces your per minute charge from over $2 a minute down to .15 - .20 cents a minute.) A picture of my kids.
