Tentative April surgery....

I am tentatively scheduled for surgery in April. Don't know the exact date yet, because it depends on BCBS. Hope to find some good support buddies here!

Hey Lois - congratulations on the tentative April surgery date. I know how difficult it is dealing with the insurance company. I also have BCBS and got a call from my doctor's office today saying that I have been precertified for the hospital stay, but the medical necessity issue is still open. What's up with that? Guess I'll have to keep after them (BCBS****il I get a firm commitment. Anyway, welcome to the April board and I'd love to keep in touch to both give and get support. Best wishes! Bonnie

Which BCBS do you have? I have Capital. I'm worried about a long fight with them to get them to cover the surgery.

I have Federal BCBS. It is so hard to compare insurance requirements because they all appear to be different. I just wish they (my policy) were a little more forthcoming with information. Getting information from the reps is like pulling teeth sometimes.
