Hi Julia,
Thank you! The LBL was harder than I anticipated, but it got better very quickly, day by day. The first day was the worst and then it has just improved dramatically since then.
I had my arms done along with the LBL so it took 10 hours of surgery but if I had to do it again, I would do it exactly the same.
I will be posting over the next couple of days - just borrowed a digital camera.
When is your consult? Good luck and please post your experience.
Take care,
Sue
Hi, Julia
I did ok after the surgery. The day after I felt as tho I'd been run over and it was really not fun at all. It probably took me a few days to get over the anesthesia, but I can't say that there was anything specific that bothered me about it. It was more the drains and general discomfort that bothered me. Even now after a month, I have pain but not from the LBL. My arms tend to bother me more, the scar is tender and my lower arms hurt. According to my surgeon, it's because the arms tend to hang down during the day so by the end of the day, it causes pain in the forearms. I think it's just going to take time, but I am still very happy that I did all the surgery together and got it over with.
Take care,
Sue
