Hello April Buddies!! How is everyone? Stop in and give us the low down.... What is your favorite menu or meal to keep you on track and what is your enemy in the food department? What do you do to try to curb that little demon? Hope this finds you all doing well, obeying the pouch rules as much as possible and living this new life to the fullest. I would not have made it this far if it weren't for my April Buddies so I say once again, thanks for sharing your lives with me and helping me and may we never forget how far we have come! In Christ's love, Joan M

Hello Becky! So glad you took the time during this busy time before Christmas to share with us. Yum on the seafood. I hardly ever eat King Crab Legs...too expensive for me and family doesn't like them. But I can eat some shrimp for sure. I am glad you decided to forgo the stress giving job and return to what you love doing. I think the value in that far outweighs the monetary value. Also, how great to be with your family this Christmas and at goal..what more could you ask for? My favorite meal is still a salad made with romaine, spinach, salad pizzazz (dried cherries, cranberries and pecans), shrimp and salad spritzer (balsalmic vinegrette). And of course cottage with Sf blackberry jam from Walmart. I need to watch out for caramel Rice Cakes...they can be habit forming when watching a movie on the Hallmark Channel or reading Christian Historical Fiction! Tears and munching do not go together after WLS. But I am still maintaining between 129 and 133 and have been for several months. Have a Christ filled CHRISTmas and may the Lord continue to bless this new life you and the other April Buddies have been given. In His love and grace, Joan M

Sorry it took so long to post trying to get ready for Christmas, trying to keep the craziness out of the season. It isn't working so great, have a bad cold and not up for anything let alone wrapping presents and visiting people. But I have one more day to feel this way then I have to get chipper and happy, listening to Christmas songs hoping they will rub off. My favorite food these days is all food! I would be lost with hot ****o and protein powder, my snack food of choice are graham crackers. Bad choice I know but it is better than the cookies and candies that I want. The only food I stay away from is orange juice because it makes me sick. Otherwise I eat anything but in moderation, I try and stick to the 3 bites wisdom, doesn't always work but I try. Anyway, I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas with a safe and blessed New Year Year full of joy and happiness. Hugs, Jenni

Jenni..do not worry about how long it took to respond..you responded...how great you have done. I never heard the 3 bites wisdom...I like it! Isn't maintenance the hardest? So glad you are at least enjoying the holiday with restraint. Me too.... Have a Blessed Christmas and enjoy your family. I hope to keep us all connected this coming year so we do not forget what we have all been through together. I think back of before surgery when we all got our surgery dates and met on this board how excited and nervous we all were and how we wanted to help and encourage each other. What a blessing that 1st year was to me. Thanks for being a part of it. Joan

Hello Joan, Happy Holidays to you. My favorite food that I do extremely well with is any kind of soup, home made, canned, from a deli, any soup will do. My cravings have been bad as far as holiday goodies, candy, fudge, chips/dip etc but I have maintained my weight so far and I am below goal so all is good. Thank you for posting this. Would love to hear from more of our april friends.

You know Carol I see you on the OFF Board often but I still have a hard time believing you are the same Carol from this April Board! How many changes you have made these past 20 months! Glad you stopped in and I too love soups. I am making split pea and chicken noodle for my sister for after her knee surgery and will put some on the side for me too. Have a blessed Christmas and thanks for popping in. Joan
