Hi Joan, Thank you for doing this. I just love reading the update on our april surgerys. Im not much of a breakfast person, so usually just a coffee and a piece of fruit. Lunch is usually a couple different kinds of cold cuts and a piece of cheese and more fruit. If I do a sandwich, its just a half sandwich. Dinner varies, I dont cook much but usually a piece of lean meat, chicken or fish, and some vegetables. My snacks are usually fruit. I have been eating lots of watermelon, strawberries, blueberries and peaches, and I mean LOTS. My wow moments come almost on a daily basis, like everyone else that has responded, its the people that havent seen me for a year or so and dont know who I am, that totally amazes me and the sizes of my clothing. I look at a pair of pants, shirt or whatever and think, thats not going to fit ME, and then it does and I am so amazed. My highest weight was 301, day of surgery was 291 and today I weigh 140. I have been told by 3 different doctors to NOT lose any more weight. I am 5 ft 6 inches tall and 156 put me at a normal bmi. My surgeon guesses that I have at least 20 lbs of excess skin, mostly on my legs to be removed but that would put me underweight according to his chart so he wants me to wait. I am wearing size 7 or 8 pants, and small or medium shirts, totally amazing. I am so thrilled. I am so happy for all of us april buddies, everyone has done so well and I am proud to be part of such a successful bunch of people. Thank you Carol

1. What was the most recent or most memorable wow moments or changes that are made possible due to WLS. When I get dressed every morning is a WOW moment, can't believe the clothes fit me, when my Mom says you can't wear that it is too big! I can do just about anything I want to now. This is going to sound really bad, vain I guess but I love the looks I get from people, guys do double takes. I had a lady tell me Tuesday night "like you need to watch what you eat-your tall and thin" Thin no one has ever called me thin before! Not sure if I have said this on this page or not but what I don't like is when people say your too skinny or thin, would they tell me I was too fat???? 2. What does an average day's meal menu consist of...remember "Ethel" wants to know? I am not much of a morning person so food doesn't sit well before 10 unless it is coco wheats with protein powder in it. I am bad I snack lots on salty foods throughout the day, lunch is whatever-today was salad, egg roll and a few bites of carmel cheese cake then tonight a slice of frozen pizza and crab meat. I will have a cup of hot ****o with protein powder before bed. I am forgetful of my vitamin at times, but usually take one multi-vit in the morning and one at night. 3. Before/goal/current weight Before weight 310, goal weight 150-155, current weight between 147-152 depending on the day. My weight has been pretty stable since April 13 when I hit my goal of 155. Life is good!

Hi All, I haven't checked in in a long time, but whenever I need some hope that I can keep doing this, I see what you all are up to. Thanks for continuing this April 2006 forum. Recent Wow moments - Rode a bike for the first time in 30 years last weekend. Lifted and ran and played with several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews today. Bought a great outfit at Chicos. Had a hard workout after being sick and got a great endorphin high. Food - Protein shake and small piece of fruit for breakfast. Protein and vegetables for lunch. Protein and vegetables for dinner. 1 carb a day and never, ever, ever any sugar. Weight - 377/207/172 I continue losing slowly but steadily. I stop if I don't work out or don'****ch my amounts carefully, like when I eat out too often. I feel like I've got a "normal" person's shot at losing the next 35 pounds. Eat less, exercise more, don't eat foods that make me crave more food (like sugar) and ask for support from friends (a lot). Thanks for doing this with me. Dotsie PS I put a pic on my profile of some head shots from 3 different times along the journey. I am probably going to need some neck skin removed, but I don't have to think about that right now. More weight to lose....

Dorothy, I like the 3 headshots. That tells it all doesn't it. You are doing great. Keep it up--we are all with you. This April group has been wonderful and glad there is increased activity now. Colder, wet weather brings us all inside to our computers! Julia

Hi Joan and Ethel. I need to check out the over Fifty Board also. I haven't come here for awhile even though we said we would check in weekly. Maybe that can be our New Years Resolution now that most of us don't need to make the "lose Weight" resolution!! I miss being here also. This is the board that I enjoyed and learned the most from in my first year. It is great to hear from everyone again. Lets keep it up. God bless and Merry Christmas. Julia
