Still FAT
Jennifer,
Have you seen your surgeon? Have you spoken to him/her about this? Are you still losing?
I feel bad, you seem defeated and I wish there were some way to help out.
I've lost my weight but I am going to see a therapist today because I feel as though my cravings are starting to get a bit out of control. Not that I can eat that much, but it's more than I want and I feel that this might help.
Can you let us know more about what is going on?
Take care,
Sue
I talked to my surgeon. He did an upper gi to make sure that my stomach hasn't grown. I haven't heard anything on the results yet. He also told me that it could have been my bi-polor meds that I was taking from Aug.-Dec. of last year. Because that is when I stopped losing weight. I'm not gaining weight, but I'm not losing anything either. Defeated is a good word, because that is how I feel. Praise the Lord I will have a perfect body when I die. And, I don't think that is how God wants me to think. Does any of this answer your question?
Jennifer
Jennifer, I would be on the doc's door step, keep asking questions, see if they can change your med's. You now have the tool, there has to be something that the doc can do to help... You deserve the very best they have. I wish there were some words of wisdom I could give you but there aren't just remember everyday is a new day and we have to keep trying. This is a never ending struggle even for those of us who have lost weight.
I wish you the best of luck and keep bugging that Doc of yours til he helps you!
You can vent you want!
Hugs,
Jenni
It certainly does. Have you considered therapy? I'm not being judgemental, but you do sound defeated, angry and depressed altogether. I just had a consult for it myself. In my case it's because I don't think I ever really addressed my emotional eating issues and even tho I can't eat the way I did pre-WLS, I still sometimes want to shove food into my mouth. I think it's a great idea that you are working on figuring out why and I would see if you can get the result about the stomach stretching. There is a new procedure that they use to fold over the excess opening in the stoma so that the opening is smaller again. I don't know how many surgeons have performed this, but it's worth asking if that is your issue.
I hope how every things go for you that you find peace.
Take care,
Sue
Jennifer,
Look how far you have come.... Are you feeling better? Do you still have to take meds? How's your sleep apnea? Can you move better then before?
Is this a lifetime committment.... yes!
Take the tool that you were given, and use it. Be honest with yourself about what you eat and how much. You have the rest of your life to lose the extra weight, it will take time and effort. Don't compare yourself to anyone else who has had the surgery, we are all different.
Enlist your Dr's help, talk to your NUT, make this tool work for you.
Don't dwell on the amount it cost you or the weight you have left to lose.... take this one day at a time and you will get to where you want to be or at least a lot closer.
Trust in yourself and your God, you can do this!
