I HAVE SO STOPPED!
Hi everyone in the April 06 board. It has been so long since I lost any weight! I started out pre-surgery at 238, I now weigh from 167-170. I can't for the life of me get down to at least 155. I wear size 14. I was in 20-22 pants and 3x blouses. Most of the time I wore stretch pants, size xl. I am very proud of what I have lost, don't get me wrong, but I would so love to lose the rest. Could someone give me some clue as to what to do? I do walk a lot, I work outside all day, then I walk a 1-1/12 miles at lunch 2 -4 days a week. Appreciate any advice! Thanks!! Brenda
It sounds like you are getting in a good amount of exercise. How is your food intake? Have you journaled your intake to evaluate if you are getting in enough protien and water? 60-80 grams protein a day, 8 plus glasses water per day. Also how many calories are you taking in a day? Some people don't take in enough calories and their body's metabolism will slow and the weight loss will stop. Or too many calories can stop the weight loss too. Try tracking your intake on one of the web sites available on line as spark people.com .
Good luck

Same here. So I met with my nut and I was eating too many calories - around 1600 per day. I had no clue I was eating this much but was eating "melting carbs". That's what we call chips, crackers, etc. any carb that is crunchy and basically dissolves in your mouth. They are so good but are basically empty cals per my nut. So, she put me back on 1000 cal/day and added 2 protein supplements again (need to be included in my 1000).
I've started weights about a month ago too and have lost 10 pounds the past month. I did not lose anything in the 2 months prior.
Hope this helps. Good luck and hang in there. You CAN do it.

Brenda, my nut told me that I need 1200 to 1500 calories a day. No more than 60 to 70 carbs, (of any kind) and at least 70 to 100 protein. With your exercising, this should work for you.
Try keeping a journal for a couple of weeks and see if this helps. Make sure you are getting your water in too. You may not be getting enough calories in.
I have a plateau buster if you would like me to send it to you.
Good luck and hang in there girl, You can do it.
Kathleen
