Strength and Resolution into the next year!

Yesterday was my one-year anniversary and my doctor's appointment. I was in his office, I started to get tears as I told him thank you for giving me this new life. He says he only gave me the tool, now the honeymoon is over and I will have to use it, exercise and learn that even though I can eat foods-DON'T. Now the real work begins! I have revowed this morning to keep up on my exercise, giving me the physical strength to tighten some of this loose skin and flab, and I have the resolution to work on this journey with the same spirit I had in the first year! I will not be one of the vast majority that gains back their weight after the honeymoon stage is over. On a wow moment I went to the mall shopping for the first time, since I was in high school. I live about 2 hours away from a real "mall"; I was excited and scared at the same time. I fit into 10's, Medium shorts, Medium shirts; even my shoe size went down lots. I went to Kohl's, Younkers, Vanity Fair and Christopher & Banks then spent way more than I should have, but oh is it fun to shop off the rack. I now hope I stay this size for the summer. Well April is almost over and our first year is under our belts, here's to our next 52 weeks with much continued success, encouragement and support this upcoming year! Hugs, Jenni ~~~"Anyone can give up, it's the easiest thing in the world to do. But to hold it together when everyone else would understand if you fell apart, that's true strength. Failure will never overtake me if my determination to succeed is strong enough"~~~

Congratulations Jenni! Your look wonderful and I know you will keep it up. Your message was a good one and now will be the hard part but we can all do this and I think staying in touch online will help so much. Have a great second year. Julia

Congratulations on your first anniversary! You have used your tool to the max. Here is to the next year and each thereafter for all us to have success losing whatever number of pounds to reach our goals and for maintaining our weight loss and staying healthy. I hope everyone has had their one year check up with their surgeon and makes one yearly so you can have all those important lab tests to check for any vitamin deficiencies. Don't forget to take your supplements! Just wanted to share, just found out that we should not take any iron at the same time as our calcium. That means any mutivit with iron or iron supplement should be taken a least two hours apart from our calcium to get maximum absorption. To the next year of success! Sher
