Today's my anniversary!!
I can't believe that at this time last year, I was being prepped for surgery and it's already a year later.
Today is my (and Joan M's anniversary) and what a difference a year makes.
From the big changes, eliminating all meds from my menu, completing a 6 mile marathon, and feeling "normal", to the little changes, like being able to cross my legs, or realizing that even though I am not short, my legs are and I have to wear petite or short sized pants. My wardrobe has gotten smaller and bigger. I can fit more pairs of pants into the same space a couple of pairs of sweatpants fit before.
One of the people I work with mentioned to me a few days ago that he thinks I am more bubbly than I was before. I do feel a weight has been lifted (no pun intended) and I feel freer and more mobile physically and spiritually.
I still have my moments where I crave things or I beat myself up over taking something I think I shouldn't, but I try to be less of a harsh judge on myself and keep on keeping on.
I appreciate this board so much -- I've learned from everyone and I think you are all special and wonderful people who have shared your journeys along with mine. I thank you all for your posts and your kind words to me this year.
Good luck to us all on beginning our second year of this wondrous gift.
Have a wonderful day!
Sue
Yes, Girlfriend we are certainly in a better place this year than last year a nd I am so grateful to the Lord for it. We all on this board have news lives and we willl continue to use this tool we have and do well. Everyday is a choice in how we respond to food to use it to live or live to eat.
Thanks for sharing this adventure with me.

Congratulations Sue and Joan! One year gone by and along with it many pounds of excess weight. You both have done such amazing things over this past year and have been very succeessful using your WLS tool to it's full advantage.
Sue try not to be too hard on yourself if you stray from your plan. If there is one thing I have learned over this year is that we are only human and will make mistakes and not follow the plan as we should or eat something we really shouldn't , but for continued success we need to forgive ourselves right away and just start again doing things the way we were taught. I know in the past if I cheated I would just give up and blow the whole day or just give up totally. That is why up until this year I was never ever to lose a significant amount of weight and keep it off.
Wishing all of us to have continued success in using this WLS tool to get to our ultimate goals and to maintain our weight loss this coming year and every year there after.
Thanks to everyone for their support here at OH.
