My weekend WOW moments
I went to the Spring Conference for my Toastmasters district. I had two important things to do there one was chair the first timers committee and the other elections. i was running for a division governor. I didn't realize how dirty the politics could tt was a close election, 134 votes cast, I got 61, he got 73. I really couldn't believe the good comments I got, from people. More complements than he recieved congratulations. And there were several heads that turned, for my outfit that day. A printed green skirt (size 14) and black blouse.
I wasn't done yet, for the night was still young and there was the formal dinner dance. I had my new pink/mauve dress to wear (pictures are in my profile). I thought that heads turned in the morning even more turned when I walked in in that dress. I'd eaten a little too much and my pouch was grumbling so I didn't really enjoy the dinner. Then as I was contemplating going to bed, the pouch perked up and stopped hurting.
I was able to dance the cotton eye joe, and the window washer song for the first time since I'd been coming to these conventions. I could even pivot on my bad leg and I hadn't done that in several years. Maybe I can go back to Square Dancing this summer. I at least want to try.
At the very end of the night the DJ decided to play a game with a hula hoop. Picture this, 20 people in a circle with hands joined, a hula hoop over the arms of one couple. The object of the game was to pass the hoop over your body and onto the next, if the music stopped and you had the hoop on your body you were out. Well, I must really be getting more flexible ( did the water aerobics do that?) for it ended up that I was one of the last 3 in the circle!!!!!
