Renea...it isn't good to compare to much due to age, height and other factors, such as medical conditions...but just as an idea: I was 290lbs morning of surgery and I am 5'1". I now weigh between 146 and 147 and my one year mark is April 25. Just do your best and be healthy and where your Dr. feels you should be and that is great! God bless...Joan M

Renea, I had Lap RNY April 24, and my starting weight was 335. I am just a week away for my one year annivarsary. I have lost 140 pounds to date. I had lost 75 lbs by my 6 month post-op. Everyone is different and lose differently. I was 49 almost 50 when I had my surgery, and I had a incision break back open after 2 weeks, so I wasnt able to exercise until I was about 3 months out. I could do walking, but nothing hard until I was healed again. I was on 10 medications for different problems that I had due to overweight, as of today, the only things I take is allergy medications, and my vitamins and supplements. I know that you will succeed in this journey just like the rest of us have. This tool is AWESOME, if you use it right. Good luck and keep up posted. Kathleen

I agree the above posts we all are built different and to have a set number or goal for a year might not be a good idea. It puts to much pressure on and you just need to take it day by day and go with the flow. This isn't a diet it is a lifestyle change a change for the rest of our lives. When my journey started I was 310 when I started- now I go between 155 and 160 on any given day. On my home scale I was 156 this morning, on the weigh****chers scale tonight I was 160 so... I am 5'8 and 37, I let my doc set my first goal when I hit is I had a magic number in my head of 155 that way I could say 155 lost and weigh 155....that is my goal weight, so for the most part I am there. I would let your Doc tell you where he wants you at first and then just don't go lower than what he tells you. You now have a tool to use to get where you want to go, you just have to use it! Good luck and best wishes, Jenni

I'm 5' 9'' and was 325 lbs at WLS back on 4/12/06. A year after I'm at 190lbs, so that's 135 lbs lost. But as others have replied, we all hae different body types, so results may vary. LOL
