Oddly enough - I've lost more than I weigh
The other night I was having a difficult moment, really craving food and had a bit more than I should have. (Of course, compared to a pre-WLS craving, it was minimal.) So I thought, let me weigh myself (even tho, I am the self proclaimed scale-phobic person), I thought maybe it will give me a bit of an incentive.
So I step on the scale and find that it says.........158.
I was shocked for several reasons, one being I was 165 about two weeks ago. The other reason is that this is the first time since I've known my husband that I weigh less than he does. I am 7 lbs less than him and have made sure to tell everyone that I know.
So now if I have a little craving, I try and remind myself that I've been doing really well and shouldn't give in to the cravings.
So my current weight loss is 168 which means I weigh at 158 less than I've lost. I lost a whole entire person!!!
I want to wish everyone a joyous Easter and weekend.
Take care,
Sue
You are doing GREAT!!!
It does feel a bit weird to admit that you have lost more than you currently weigh...doesn't it! BUT, it feels oooo good!
I have lost 123 pounds and I currently weigh 110 pounds...feels awesome!
YES...I have weighed less than my hubby for at lewast 6 months now and keep getting smaller, although this Wed. is my 1 yr surgeversary so I am sure I won't lose a whole lot more!
Way to go
Amy
That is totally awesome!! You go girl
Now tell me what your secret is? I have been at a stall for 3 months and cant lose anymore, I am not gaining but I am not losing either. I have tried everything that I can think of to lose this weight and it just isnt happening.
I need so serious help. (I not mean mentally because that isnt fixable, lol) but I need to lose some more. Any suggestion would be greatly appreicate.
I am so happy for you Sue, keep up the great work.
Kathleen
Thanks, Kathleen!
My secret is not really a secret. I exercise/walk a lot.
Since I joined the gym at the end of July, with the exception of the two weeks I couldn't exercise because I damaged my retina, I have been walking 5 - 6 days a week, any where from 2 - 6 miles a day. If I do the gym, I do about 2.25 - 2.5 miles on the treadmill, the rowing machine and ab cruncher. I go before work and spend about 50 - 60 minutes there. On the days I don't go to the gym, I've been walking to work which is about 3 miles. As often as possible, I walk home which is another 3 miles and takes me just over an hour. I find it relaxing and a great stress reliever, especially good for helping me transition from work to my home. I'm one of those people who need and thrive on some alone time and the walking is a great time for me. It also helps me - I work on two websites and am on various committees for my sons' alma mater and I do a lot of letter composition. Sometimes I have it all thought out on my walk or on the treadmill and as soon as I get to work, I put it down on the pc. I've logged an estimate of the walking that I've been doing (mind you, this is not just walking around, I log the gym time, the walks back and forth to work, and any other long walks I take. Since I started logging the miles, I average 4.07 miles per day and since April 1st, my average is 5.36.
As far as food, I probably take in about 1200 - 1500 calories, but since I walk so much, I'm sure I'm burning up part of it.
I don't know how much more I'll lose. My pcp thinks I will lose more, and if I do, I'm fine with it, but I'm sure that my ramped up exercise is what is keeping me still losing.
Except for some back aches and if I walk up hill, my knee will hurt, I feel better than I've felt in years.
Enjoy the day!
Sue
Hooray for you Sue and great loss...isn't it amazing how this tool makes us think differently about those cravings...before we wouldn't stop to think we would just eat and eat and eat and still not satisfied. even now when we do decide to eat it isn't much and we are satisfied.
Again...great job nad hope your Easter was Blessed...Mine sure was!
