Went to Myrtle Beach and while there my knee went out so we came back early ad I went to Dr. yesterday. He thinks torn muniscus (sp) so I am on prednisone...anyone ever take that after surgery? I am worried because I know it causes weight gain and I have been struggling this past month with weighing between 153 - 155lbs. I so wanted to hit 135 or at least 140 by anniversary date in April and I see surgeon March 28...right after the 6 days on the meds. Yuck!!!

Hi Joan, Sorry to hear about your knee injury. I had a torn meniscus myself many years ago. It can be quite painful. I have taken prednisone before, but not since surgery. I found that it made me hyper and I had difficulty sleeping. It can also make you extra hungry. I don't remember having any weight gain. I think someone might notice a weight gain if they were on it long term. I hope your injury heals itself. I ended up having arthroscopic surgery. Try not to worry too much.
