Hello - I followed the plateau plan (with slight reductions in the amount of protein - i probaly should have chosen to reduce the other items instead of the protein, since it looks like I came up a little short in that area) which is as follows... Bfast 1 scrambled egg, 1 turkey bacon, 1/2 grapefruit, 1 silver dollar pancake (I made them for my daughter, and tasted one...this was not part of the plan) Snack 2 oz. unsalted cashews Lunch 2 oz. grilled tilapia (not certain about this - I didn't weigh), 1/2 cup broccoli, 1/2 grapefruit Snack Strawberry s/f Lite Yogurt Dinner 2 grilled chicken drummettes, 1/2 cup broccoli, 1/2 grapefruit Snack 1 healthy choice ice cream bar (i haven't eaten this yet, but probably will later) I only had two bottles of water today Total according to spark people: CALORIES CARBS FAT PROTEIN 986 102 43 53

Tarra...looks like the carbs are really high with this plateu buster. That is probably due to 1/2 grapefruit 3x's a day. Was this plan by a bariatric nutritionist or Dr.? Because we really have to watch the carbs and sugar counts. Everything else looks really good except the protein. Maybe you should add a protein supplement to up that count because w/o protein being the highest number (other than calories) we don't lose the way we need to nor get the required nutrition our muscles need. Remember our heart is a muscle too. Push the protein. Glad you joined us and hope it helps. In His love, Joan M

Hi Joan, Thanks for your input...I didn't pay much attention to anything but the calories and protein so after your comments I took another look at my sparkpeople entries to see where the carbs came from. After looking at my sparkpeople entries, the carbs are as follows: silver dollar pancake - 14!!! (this was not part of the plan - so that amt could easily be taken off) Healthy Choice Ice Cream Bar - 13!!! (which was not good - so I probably won't be eating this again) 2 oz. unsalted cashews - 16!!! Yoplait Lite Yogurt - 19!!! 1/2 grapefruit - 9 (3 x per day = 27!!) 1/2 c broccoli - 6 On the plan there was a comment that said "Created by a WLS Surgeon"...but just because it's written doesn't make it so... For some reason, I have in sparkpeople as my carb goal - 135 - 252. I can't remember if I input that there or if the system did that automatically - do you know what my carb count should be for a day?

Tarra...our nutritionist just told us two weeks ago that at our stage out we can have up to 40% of our total calories in carbs. She wouldn't give set number just said to do the percentage so if you plan on sparks you can tell if you are over the 40% or not and then adjust. But try not to go over that amount. There is a great yougurt I eat that is lover in carbs. I buy it at Superwalmart...Fit and Active Carb and Sugar Control...see Ethel wants to klnow back posts to check out the counts. I buy the vanilla and I like it. Can add DaVinci SF syrup...I use Kualua and yummmm. Don't get discouraged we are all learning how to adjust at 10 months out. In Him, Joan M
