Protein at 10 months out...?
I still have trouble with meats and getting enough protein from "real" food so I do two protein shakes a day. I have begun to skip here or there, maybe twice a week? It's easy to make them when I work bc we have a great blender and bananas, at home, not so much.
I am going to ask my nut in a few weeks but I was wondering - am I the only loonie still doing this much protein supplementation? Is it worth it anymore?
Trying to power through the last 30 lbs now, increasing my exercise and getting my eating more on track. Worst indulgence? Milk chocolate! Evil.... Oh and carbs. BAD!

Holy crow- 168? Is that real? One hundred sixty eight. Nope- still doesn't sound real.
Can't be right. Naww.... ;)
Alot of people are using protien supplements from what I have been reading on the message boards. It is real important to get the neccessary amount of protien in your diet, it is neccessary for good nutrtion and will also help with your weight loss. If you cannot tolerate enough of regular foods to get your protien in, supplementation is the only other way you can get it. I was told to get 60-70 grams of protien each day.
There are other foods besides just meat to get your protien in. Examples cheese, yogurt, eggs,. Keep trying, eventually you may be able to tolerate the foods you are having trouble with now.
You are doing great, stay away from the evil carbs.

Beth, I still do my protein shakes, I try to do one a day, but dont always get it, cause I usually eat chicken or tuna, or something else that is high in protein. You are not a loonie, so dont be so hard on yourself, you have come along way. and look you are almost at goal weight, so be proud.

Hi Beth, I don't get enough protein each day unless I have a protein drink. I have it at night because that is when I am cruising for something to nibble on. I too, love chocolate and drink chocolate unjury protein powder with a packet of splenda and a teaspoon of vanilla in soy milk (Iprefer that over skim milk) with a little ice and blend in my magic bullet. I frequently have it hot too, but can't make it as hot as I like it, as the protein can't be put in anything over 130 degrees. Occ. I will add a teaspoon or two of instant pudding powder (chocolate of course) and it makes it really rich and thick. Very good. YUMMY
Unjury protein powder is my favorite. Julia
