a yummy recipe
now some of you might be gun shy when it comes to this recipe, however I encourage you to remember it's a marinade and 99.9% of it will stay in the bowl not in your stomache
that being said this is the EASIEST and one of the YUMMIEST teriyaki wings you will EVER have.
My fussy hubby and toddler both LOVED them.
3lbs of chicken wings (lots of left overs) sectioned into drummettes and wings
1- 10 oz bottle of teriyaki sauce (I used kikkomen)
8oz can of crushed pineapple
the recipe calls for seasoning with salt and pepper but I didn't I think teriyaki has enough salt.
SO I took the ENTIRE bottle of teriyaki sauce and poured it in a ziplock i opened the can of pineapple (which if I remember correctly was 2 servings and 15grams of sugar per serving so 30 grams of sugar for the whole can) and I poured it in with the teriyaki and mixed it up. I added the wings and mixed it all up. I marinaded it for 2 hours and mixed it eevry 30 mins or so.. (nxt time I will go over night but I think one hour would give it okay flavor but I wouldn't go LESS)
I put them on a foil lined baking sheet and baked them at 400 for 40 mins.
they rocked my low carb world!
I made a dipping sauce to go with it of fat free whipped chive cream cheese and equal parts of fat free sour creams blended untill creamy. the onion taste was a nice balance to the salty teriyaki, I think if you prefer a peanut satey sauce it would be REALLY good too.
now where I varied from the recipe was I only did 1.5 lbs.
I also only cooked it for about 25-35 mins.. 30 probably would of been perfect but when I peaked in at 5 mins to go I decided to flip the wings so that both sides would have that oven glaze and not one side glazed and one side mushy. Since they cooled I popped them in for another 10 mins..
Now they were awesome enough I plan to bring them to bunco next wednesday. You have to realize I have a martha stewart reputation among these women. I always make the best stuff even when I've worked till 5 then I bring the best suff even if it's not friendly to my diet.. I walk in and they litterally take my stuff from me to see what I made.. I am willing to bring recipe to stand up to that reputation!!
I think the marinade would work really well for pork tenderloin, chicken breasts maybe steak too!
